I think that would be awesome to be honest. That takes a lot of potential punch out of New Jersey IMHO and he's very likely to be dealt to a Western Conference team, so IF we face him in the playoffs it will only be in the playoffs. It also makes life better for Roy as one of his worst matchups for the postseason is far away.
I'd much rather BEAT our competition as opposed to hope he gets shipped to the West. I honestly don't care where he goes, but we shouldn't hope a player moves to a different conference so that we can play him less.

    What about Bellinelli, anyone?
Pass. When he's on he's ok, but that isn't very often. Plus he doesn't play "D".

I don't see why not if it makes life better for us. I think one superteam on our side of the playoffs is more then enough. And we can build what we want, but the more of those teams are in our conference the worse our chances of advancing far in the playoffs become. I like valiant behavior aswell, but sometimes it's better to avoid having to fight a valiant, but losing battle IMHO.

Kris Humphries is pricing himself out of a job, maybe this is the kind of later signing the Pacers can take advantage of.

Source close to process says Portland & Charlotte have indeed told Brook Lopez they're ready to sign him today to four-year max offer sheet
LOL........it's lets screw Brooklyn, Orlando and Dwight Howard day!

The only real winner in all of this? Brook Lopez....he's getting a MAX contract only because someone else wants to use him as a trading pawn.

If Lopez did so, wouldn't that almost immediately eliminate Brooklyn from the Dwight Sweepstakes? That's exactly what we need: more drama, lasting more time.
If it means we don't have to deal with another superteam in the East, I'm fine with some more drama!

Interesting....according to Larry Coon, he says that the Nets wants to get something done by 3pm EDT / 12 noon PDT. I don't know where he's getting this time or if this is something that he is assuming. Also, it is unclear if this is some deadline set by Orlando so that they can move on to ( what Coon refers to as ) Plan B ( likely Bynum and the Lakers ).

Good information, but I'm focused on Green, since Mayo is being recruited by Phoenix and Dallas, and Lee is looking at Boston. If Brooklyn only has $1.2m to give to Green, I think offering him a $2.5m contract would be enough to entice him. He's already said that he'd take less to stay with the Nets, but BKN only has $1.2m to sign several more players at minimum. Green could easily slip to us, but I won't be surprised (just majorly disappointed) if we end up passing on him like we did Perry Jones.
I'd even offer a little more to get Green. I don't see it happening. If you like shopping off the bargain basement rack, like Bird did, this is a player I'd want.

I mentioned this recently and so did the article about no noise regarding Landry. Maybe his asking price is too high for teams to be interested. If he could be gotten for around 5 mil, he'd be a good b/u PF for the Pacers.

You lost me....hasn't the Blazers offered the MAX and the Pacers scared them off by saying that they will match the MAX offer for him? It would make more sense for the Rockets to go pilfer McGee or Brook than it would be to go after Hibbert.

Has anything Houston done since the draft made sense?

The problem is that it has been rumored that the whole Dwight Drama and whether the Hornets will match the offer sent by Phoenix are the main dominoes that are waiting to fall before the rest of the NBA can move on with other FA signings.

Nah, not as bad as that. Barbosa and Fes last year? Saras from a few years back. Does Maceo count? He was signed from overseas anyway. But yeah no one's about to mistake our international scouting department with the Spurs'.

Btw, unless I'm misremembering badly, I thought I read that we were one of the teams interested in Ayon before the Hornets snatched him.
Yeah, I meant the non NBA FAs, did get Cabbages. Thanks for reminding me. I did overstate it though, I do remember us being "interested in" Ayon, which would've just been a stellar get. And I do know we scouted Shved (along with probably the rest of the league). Just wish we actually landed some guys like that. It's a good moneyball type approach for a small market. Maybe it'll happen under Pritchard.

In other words: That's B-Lopez's incentive NOT to just sign sheet w/Blazers or Bobcats. Waiting a little longer might get him fifth year

    ESPNSteinLine Marc Stein
ONLY Nets can give Lopez five-year max. So Nets surely asking Brook to be patient & as reward promising Year 5 cash if Dwight trade unravels
Lopez is gonna get more money then Hibbert it looks like...

Really good deal for Memphis with Bayless. He still has a ton of untapped potential, which he showed glimpses of this past season.

So Hibbert seems locked up in Indiana, time to turn attention to Mayo, Lee or Brown?

    Stephen Litel
    Iggy.

What a weird comment. I do think Iggy compliments Hill well - He can handle the ball and slash. But trading Granger for Iggy is pretty lateral and our cap situation won't really allow us to trade for him in another way.

I just don't see why Orlando would want to pay Lopez that kind of money. There's no way I would commit that kind of money to a player I'm not in love with. There goes the salary cap relief they were looking for.

Hmmm pieces moving? Interesting NO is trading Jack and there has been no word on Gordon signing the offer sheet he was supposed to this morning.

So Jax will coach Jack, makes sense.

how great would this be..... they traded jack, EJ clearly doesn't want to be in NO and he hasn't signed the offer sheet from Phoenix.... So lets say NO calls EJ up and says "We will send you you to the Pacers in a sign and trade" we send back DC+Hans and Picks for him..... NO would want to do this so they can get quality pieces and picks that Phoenix does not have bc EJ clearly does not want to stay in NO
