Who is our competition for Mayo at this point? Phoenix?

Honestly, while I do want OJ Mayo on this team, as always, the pricetag is a concern. To me, we have slightly overpaid both Hibbert and Hill this offseason. Slightly overpaying Mayo would be dangerous to a small market team, unless it is a 2 year deal or something. Basically what I am saying is: I won't be upset if we ended up with Courtney Lee at half the cost of OJ Mayo.

I like Delfino. If he got healthy and back to his prime, it would be a good upgrade over Dahntay. But that's a gamble, and it would have to be extremely cheap and short.

If Mike Miller is too injured to play next season it's possible the Heat could get a $2.9 injury exception. This would be a huge coup for Pat Riley, and like many fantasy teams after a great draft, the Heat are starting to look unbeatable on paper. Jul 10 - 6:52 PM

The poster "pacertom" since this forum began (and before!). I changed my name here to "Slick Pinkham" in honor of the imaginary player That Bobby "Slick" Leonard picked late in the 1971 ABA draft (true story!)

I hope it's not Gerald Green or Delfino. Wells said Lee wants about 7mil per,so Mayo must be at 8 or more of we think he's "too high". I hope we're not just being cheap.

How in the world did ATL land Lou Williams for the MLE? Thats crazy Pacers could easily offer more. Seriously WTF.

@RicBucher: FWIW: Batum/Hibbert both were ready to move on when offer sheet was presented. Have since softened stance. EGordon next?

Lee is going to Boston so replace Lee with Delfino or Gerald Green.

If I am not mistaken, the ATL is where Lou is from. Also, a guaranteed starting spot probably helped.

Williams being from Atlanta probably didn't hurt.

When an agreement is officially reached and reported by the national media, then I will believe it. There's a reason it hasn't happened yet.

I really have a hard time buying that Hibbert was ready to move onto Portland, considering David Falk told him to keep his mouth shut.

Hibbert was willing to move on to Portland and would have embraced it, but Eric Gordon appears to REALLY want out of New Orleans and is pursuing that much more aggressively than Hibbert.

Willing, I could see if the Pacers weren't going to match, but ready? I don't think so.

If Eric wines and cries maybe we can get a trade done midseason. But might suck trying to match salary

i gotta theory about EJ. More like a plan i guess.

Gordon's met with the Pacers early in the July moratorium, didn't he.

    this is my theory

They met and discussed the 'no RFA rule" with the Pacers and made a plan.

Find a second team, PHX, that Gordon could play for to make a max offer.

Expect the Hornets to match. and then trade gordon to get value back.

Since he cannot be traded to PHX, offer INDY as an alternative. DC + Tyler + ??? = Eric Gordon a Pacer without making Gordon do the QO thing. He gets paid and gets to play in his home town. everyone's happy.

    Except NOH

I doubt they're allowed to make that plan, but it could still work out that way I suppose.

I dont know how you would work out the salary issues... You would certainly have to trade Granger in that situation.... I would be rather reluctant to do that, given EJ's history of injuries...

I'm glad we didn't. Dude is a chucker. He takes so many bad shots. Seriously, if people think Danny has a bad shot selection, you would shoot yourselves watching Lou Williams.

I believe that is INCREDIBLY illegal.

That, and Eric Gordon just isn't coming here. Let it go folks.

If not for PHO, I'd think we'd get him. I just envision them overpaying and offering the starting position, and that'll be that. Mayo to PHO, Lee to BOS, ... Barbosa back to us?

Gerald Green would be younger and cheaper.

If the Pacers weren't willing to match, Hibbert and any other 25 year old in his situation would've been just fine moving on with $58M in hand.

This offseason was a no lose situation for Roy Hibbert.

I'd prefer him to Barbosa, but are we sure Green's really going to do much? Why isn't Brooklyn looking at him again? If he's cheap, and he's good, wouldn't he bet near the top of their list since they've spent all that money on the big guns and perhaps Dwight?
