There is a rumor going around on Twitter right now that we have come to an agreement to sign Mayo, Barbosa and Fes.. It's not confirmed but just wanted to update those of you who haven't seen it or don't have Twitter.

    Hopefully it's true.
Unless we trade DC and play one of these guys at the one, idk why the he** we'd sign Barbosa AND Mayo. I'll believe it when I see it lol

You sign Barbosa and Mayo to give your bench a maximum offensive punch. I'd look for Mayo to be "sixth man" and spend time at SG and SF off the bench as well as dabbling at the point. The finals showed us that it is beneficial to be able to get very small at times, and a lineup of Hill, Barbosa, Mayo, Granger, Hibbert could be interesting in spurts when we need to score.

Don't think that's even possible w/o renouncing Barbosa. Maybe that's what he means.

He followed up by saying Mayo was on a two year deal and Barbosa a 3 year deal...

Of course when you go to twitter, you learn that one of his interests is #Classof2013, so I guess it depends on what you think of a 17 year old's "connections". Hicks retweeted both of the tweets.

Sorry, but I won't believe a rumor from a fan... especially when in another tweet he claimed we only signed Mayo for 2 years but Barbosa for 3 o.0

No way we signed Barbosa AND Mayo.

We better not give Courtney Lee anything big if we sign him. He's not worth it. Spot up shooters are a dime a dozen. At least Mayo can create even if he has struggled with efficiency.

    Yes.

If the reports are true that the Pacers signed Mayo, Barbosa, and Fesenko, then I bet the Pacers used the MLE to sign Mayo. If it's a 3 year, $15.675 million deal, or a 4 year, $21.35 million deal, with the first year salary starting at $5 million, then that's exactly what the Pacers did. And they may have used the BAE ($1.957 million) to sign Fesenko.

Yeah I'm not buying it either.

Mayo won't sign without waiting on Phoenix.

Both Barbosa and Fes should be pretty low on our priority list. We *might* be interested in re-signing them, but probably not so early when we don't know yet which good players may fall through the cracks.

Phoenix isn't going to give Mayo the money some people think they would IMO. Mayo's market has already been set from a price stand point, the only advantage Phoenix could offer him is a guaranteed starting spot.

I thought that was pretty obvious when Plumlee was drafted.

To my knowledge the Pacers have not agreed to any deals other than Hill/Hibbert plus Plumlee. All other info is unsubstantiated rumors.

Ya, makes no sense. If something like this did happen, I'd think another move is coming. Or you could put Paul George to the role of back up small forward, that'd be a tough one.

I'm not sure I believe this kid, but I don't have nearly the hard time believing we'd want Barbosa and Mayo on our bench that some of you do. Look at how hard it was for us to score from the bench in the playoffs.

OK, so nothing substantial happening. Unless we want to give creedance to the adolescent rumor mill. I'll believe it when they turn off the rap music.

I did hear on WIBC that Wells is saying the Pacer's will match Hibberts offer. But that is probably old news by now.

I liked Barbosa, EXCEPT, in the Miami series, in which, his play , also makes me throw up in my mouth, a little. He'd be a good signing, imo, he just can't at any moment guard DWade, under any circumstance.

I still would like Brand for 4 million a year, Mayo for more the MLE and less than GHill, which I don't think is impossible, if the FA money is drying up. Then, yes, bring back Fez, you could do alot lot worse.

That's not what you said. You were talking about getting a player that will probably end up being an all star. When I say that those aren't just available for people to take, without giving up something major in return, you brought up the fact that Lowry was available for a draft pick.

    No crap.

That's the issue here. You went from "probable All-Star" to Kyle Lowry in one jump. Unless you think Kyle Lowry is a "probable All-Star" (which he isn't anywhere close) you're not meeting the understood qualification of the type of player you're looking for.
I think Lowry can be at least a one time all star like Hibbert, he was getting nominations before he got hurt, he was averaging 17 ppg 8.7 apg and 6.6 rpg before the injury, him been an all star is not as crazy as you think.
