The semi-finals should be very interesting. I thought Italy clearly deserved the win today, and probably would have won easily with more inspired forwards (Cassano made many, many bad decisions).

Also, Lescott looks like he escaped from a mental hospital (whoever cuts his hair should probably be in jail).

Boy, England and Italy really suck. This is terrible to watch. I'm pretty sure USA could beat either of these teams today.

And I agree with the commentators, it's silly that Germany gets 48 extra hours than either of these teams. Not to mention the extra time they have to play here.
The same USA that only managed a draw against Guatemala less than two weeks ago? Yeah, no.

My bad then, I didn't realize his scars were preventing his hair from growing normally (he and Ribery are alike in this respect).

But that was thanks to some, to put it lightly, questionable calls.

The Spain-Portugal semi-final was one of the most boring soccer games I've ever seen. Both teams should have eliminated.

I'm curious how Germany will go after Spain. Spain isn't playing particularly great, but the fact is that they just won't lose. Spain may be boring (and today's match was reallllly boring), but they produce results. It's difficult to play them b/c they always have the ball. And their defense is very underrated, while possessing the best keeper of the tourney. Should be fun.

How about Germany gets past a very tough Italian squad first? Then they can try to their hand at Spain.

Italy is tough no doubt, but I think playing 2 days later while playing 30 extra minutes is going to take a toll on them.

I'm all for that argument but seeing Spain just look super frisky during extra time made me wonder whether it really matters for these guys.

Anyways, all I'm saying is to not discount Italy.

Cannot believe how bad Germany have been.

Lowe has *****ed up. Gomez hasn't had a sniff and Klose should not have been dropped for him. Klose links up with play a lot better than Gomez does and he's not as streaky either. Always a solid poacher.

Podolski has been awful too. Arsenal have signed a dud there.

Hopefully the final looks more like this game than like the Spain-Portugal semi-final. Otherwise it's going to be a disappointing end to a great tournament.
