We can probably get Gasol without trading Granger. (Hill+West+pick or Collison+West+Pick could do it)
Either way, not sure we should do it. Huge contract.
Very big contract, but no question an elite talent who would only help Hibbert grow even more as a player. And he's a young 32 imo based on his style of play as a big with plenty of years left. Those deals could work as well but I don't think we could deal Hill with another player since he'd be a S&T.
Gasol now is better than West ever was or will ever be. Mike Brown's terrible offense, Kobe's tendency to jack up shots, and the fact that the Lakers ran into a buzzsaw last year in the playoffs really make Gasol a great value right now if we picked him up. I agree that a trade centered around West/Hill might do it... especially considering LA would only trade him if they were going to get some salary relief. West/Collison/pick might even do it. The Lakers are going to have their backs against the wall with the new Repeater Tax clause.
Sign me up! I'd love to enter next season with a core of PG24, Granger, Gasol and Hibbert. A decent distributor could turn the team into a powerhouse.
