Default NBA All-Defensive Team 2011-2012 Announced

    From http://www.nba.com/2012/news/05/23/n...s=iref:nbahpt2

Just wondering why the DPOY this year, Tyson Chandler, is only at the 2nd Team.

Also glad that PG got some recognition from the media with 2 first team vote.

Hope one of our guys can be mentioned in the list next season!

I think that just kind of shows how inconsistent these kind of awards are. If you don't have a clear list of qualifications, you are going to get players winning awards that they don't really deserve. I can't really say if Chandler was deserving of DPOY or if whoever was voted to either team was deserving over him, but I do know someone won an award that he wasn't deserving of this year.

I agree. This is just based on votes so there will really be inconsistencies like this one. They should just put a rule that all the top candidates for DPOY automatically gets the favorable position on the first team, with the winner a sure-ball on it. If Chandler is just a 2nd team here, it makes him winning the award a fluke.
