Thread: Granger getting called out by Lebron and Wade

Default Granger getting called out by Lebron and Wade

"Whatever he's trying, it is not working," James said Tuesday before Game 5. "He's said he's not scared of LeBron, I want to let (James) know. I guess he's doing it for his own psyche. It's stupid."
"I'm all for standing up for your guys, but certain things you just can't keep doing," Wade said. "My message to Granger was that you just can't keep running up into people's faces for altercations. We're not fighting on this basketball court, so let's not act like we're going to fight. We can be physical and do all that, but certain things got to stop. Are you out here to play basketball or are you out here to be a tough guy?"

Honestly, I can't disagree with them....Granger has had a short fuse as of late. I mentioned it in another thread...but this is something that I can see the Heat use against him to not only get under his skin but to draw 2 Technical fouls out of him in a game.

Sounds like more sense of entitlement bull#*#% from the LeWade duo.

"We get to cry and pout and throw cheapshot elbows when we are frustrated and you don't get to say anything about it, we're superstars!"

Personally I love Danny's fire and thought he was justified everytime he got a tech.

We're going to continuing to talk about Granger repeatedly and ad nauseum though just to show how unconcerned we are about him.

Is this just poor editing or did Lebron actually refer to himself in the 3rd person?

When Granger and Wade had their little spat in game 4, it was Wade who walked up and got in Granger's face, not the other way around. Watch the replay. Granger is standing still and Wade was walking past him, then stopped and got in Granger's face.

Same with Chalmers and Battie with West. THEY walked up to West and knocked the ball out of his hands.

Lebron was the one throwing his elbow in Granger's direction (twice).

Seems to me it's the Heat who are trying to be the tough guys. The Pacers just aren't backing down, and it gets the Heat's collective panties in a wad.

Keep it up, guys. Just know the line and don't cross it.

I may be a little young to remember the early 90's teams as well as a lot of the guys here on the board, but I miss the trash talk from guys who knew what they were doing. This is weak. Seriously, the whole series has had some of the softest trash talk I've ever heard.

Peyton Manning calling Vanderjagt a liquored-up idiot kicker was better, and they were on the same team.

You know, Wade really flipped the switch once Granger got in his face. Obviously Wade is capable of that anyway, but he didn't look interested until that moment.

As much as I love standing up for his teammates, he has been hurting us with this attitude, not helping.

Like I said in the other threads. Danny is not out there being an ******* at random, its after dirty plays by the LeWade duo. Don't make dirty plays and there wont be a problem. If the Refs don't see it, then it never happened. So Danny has to be the one to make the refs aware. Honestly i'm surprised Granger didn't tackle Wade after his dirty play on DC.

I'm more interested in the number of players who have spoken out on Twitter about Granger being fake tough. I'm not sure where that reputation comes from, because after watching Danny his whole career, I'd say he is pretty damn tough and never backs down from anyone.

Danny's not a loose fuse here, he knows exactly what he is doing. He was very measured and calm in the second half of game 4 after he picked up the T in the first half.

Excellent. I love a good rivalry. Both sides are trying to win points. Both sides are threatened by each other. Both sides are mischaracterizing and generalizing stuff. Seems pretty obvious to me. This is the basis of a good rivalry.

Welcome to media attention, Indiana Pacers.

All we have to do at this point is win.

EDIT: imagine how the story will change if Granger puts up a very big night?

Danny's tech happened with 12 seconds remaining in the first half. They then went to halftime for 15minutues. I don't think Danny had anything to do with Wade going off.

I'm watching the video right now. At the very end, Granger stood still. But he did move towards Wade. When Wade gets fouled under the basket, Granger is about 15 feet out on the wing. Danny must have said something because Wade wheeled around and looked right at him. Then Granger and Wade start advancing towards each other, and when they get a step or two away from each other Granger stops. When Wade kept advancing Granger tilts his head forward to say something else and that's when they got face to face. It looks like when they are face to face that Granger is the only one talking as well.

Obviously it is bothering Lebron and Wade that someone is finally calling them out for their on-court antics. Really, though, Danny should settle down and Dahntay, GH, and West should register their discontent as well.

Again, Granger didn't "get in Wade's face", it was the other way around (okay, I just went back and looked at the play again, and Granger took a couple of steps in Wade's direction, then stopped. THEN, Wade walked up and got in Granger's face. So, Granger wasn't totally innocent, but he did not create the nose to nose situation).

And, as for the play that led up to that, I wouldn't classify Hibbert's foul on Wade as anything near a "hard" foul. He didn't knock him down, he didn't hack him especially hard. He grabbed his shoulder and didn't allow him to make a lay up. Good grief, it was nothing but a good foul that ensured Wade wouldn't get an "and 1" out of it.

Again, it's the Heat reacting badly to the pressure we're putting on them, not the other way around. Do not let up on the Heat.

I don't really care about all this, unless we advance and Danny ends up getting suspended for too many techs, but part of me feels like it's helping take pressure off Roy. No idea if that's part of Danny's intention, but I like them being preoccupied with Danny being a little cocky then Roy dropping hooks over them.

Course, they'd have no choice to worry about Roy or not if they'd get him the damn ball.

This is completely blown out of proportion.

Danny has stood up for himself/his teammates. He hasn't done anything dirty. He's gotten in guys faces and told them what was up, and that's it.

I find it comical that Wade, the same guy that Heat writers/fans ***** about yapping too much, is complaining that Danny is talking too much. Ok, sure thing.

And Lebron? C'mon, dude. You're such a Charmin soft wannabe it's laughable. You throw elbows, go over the back, make excuses for everything, and now you want to talk about how "stupid" it is that another player is being aggressive? This guy is so ridiculous, he truly expects people to bend down and kiss his fingers where rings would be if he wasn't a colossal pussy in the clutch.

The last time Danny got in Wade's face was stupid. Wade and Roy got a little tangled and Wade yanked himself free, that was it, nothing malicious whatsoever. I liked the other times he did it, but the time with Wade was dumb.
