When you let Lebron have 17 rebounds, you are not going to win the game. Our small all line up is really weak for long period of time, amundson just cannot rebound against it. Hansborough two travels really killed our momentum.

He isn't doing that every night. He was able to today simply because he had two days of rest and his team was desperate.
...and he won't play desperate in game 5? Really?

    This is wishful thanking.

We need to get back to what won game two and three, intensity on defense. You can weather poor offense if the other team isn't just given points like we gave the Heat today. We aren't going to be able to beat the Heat in a scoring match, it didn't work in game one and it didn't work today. We can't beat them if we make it a defensive battle like we did in game two and three.

We were up 7 at the end of the first quarter?
Yup! And we had total momentum and took a LOT of three pointers... a lot of which we missed. We should have been up by 15 if not more if we executed better at the rim and took better/smarter shots. Now Miami hung on for the whole game and got going in the 3rd.

Also our rebounding was pretty bad giving them a lot of second chance points. Our defense left Haslem open atleast 4 times and he knocked those all down uncontested.

can we make a petition to no longer have any games on afternoons? our team is just not performing well in the afternoon at all. Wasn't the Magic loss also on an afternoon?

    Tough, tough second half.

Disappointing to lose HC advantage, absolutely.

But before we declare that the sky is falling, let's step back and look at the facts.

    The series is tied 2-2.

Yes, 2 of 3 will be in Miami, but we've shown we can win there.

LeBron had to have a superhuman effort, and Wade had to finally get "over his injury" to get over the hump and claw back into a game we were dominating.

It's very, very disappointing that we didn't maintain our first half composure. But we still get at least 2 more chances to make amends.

Let's go into Miami hungry, come away with a win, and close it out at BLF.

The way the media and some people here are talking, you would think it was 2 minutes left in the 4th quarter, losing by 20 points, down 0-3 in the series.

    We're tied folks.

Didn't help when West picked up those early fouls, forcing us to play hansborough.

This is just like game 1. LeBron and Wade both having big games and we were there at the end. TBH, this would be a lot less painful if we would not have had those first half leads. The deciding factor may have been Haslem having a good 4th and West having to sit for long stretches with foul trouble. Those are two things you can control. Lebron's greatness and Wade's quickness are not.

It's ok, this just gives us a chance to close it out at home

But realistically, I'm sure Heat changed some stuff up from last game. Our coaching staff will adjust to these changes by next game. Frank left Roy and DWest out for way too long. PG's offense is coming around and DC was great. GHill on the other hand needs to play much better. We really need to sign a good point guard over the summer. GHill just isn't cutting it.

He really showed up big in Games 2 and 3 didn't he? Were those any less important?

James may go crazy for the rest of the series but putting that type of performance in every night is unlikely.

He wasn't getting a dozen layups in games 2 and 3. If the pacers defend him like that again in game 5 he'll get a dozen more.

When our bigs get in foul trouble we have no one who can keep up the level of play, Frank had to play extended small ball cause our back up bigs suck so bad.
Lou is a good defender but lacks size, he is about Danny's height if that, PG is taller than Lou. He is also terrible on offense and can't pass the ball to save his life. Ditto for Tyler who also seems to travel 3 out of every 4 times he has the ball, and if he isn't taking steps he manages to get stuffed or turn it over somehow.. We really need to get another low post scorer this offseason to replace Tyler/ Lou. Just nitpickin on a great season, but it killed us this game.
To bad we couldn't have gotten Kaman at the deadline, this series would have been over already.

I doubt they do. The Pacers will make a counter-adjustment.

I was kind of wondering why it took Spoelstra this long to give Haslem bigger minutes in this series. I thought he was hurt, but he's always been able to hit that midrange jumper pretty regularly and help space the floor.

I like Amundsen's hustle, but we definitely need a guy who can alter shots as an option at backup C.
The poster "pacertom" since this forum began (and before!). I changed my name here to "Slick Pinkham" in honor of the imaginary player That Bobby "Slick" Leonard picked late in the 1971 ABA draft (true story!)

So true, then we wouldn't have to see hans/amundson and also pay Fes for sitting on the bench..
