5/20/2012 NBA Playoffs, Second Round - Game Thread #4: Pacers Vs. Heat - Page 10
I hate to say it. If we lose this series, it MIGHT be on Vogel.
By watching our starters play, I think we are the better team at this point, I really do. The Heat have no answers for our starters. But he constantly puts that lineup on the floor, and we get demolished. I mean, he is playing our bench against 2 of the best players in the NBA.
I only say this, because its very obvious what he wants to do with that unit isn't working. He HAS to change it up and he just won't do it.
This is ridiculous. Sorry, but it is. Do you want him to play our starters 48 minutes?
No, but I sure as hell don't want all 5 bench players, who have done absolutely horrible together, playing against LeBron, Wade, and the other Heat starters. I sure as hell don't want Barbosa to guard Wade at any point in time. Yes, I realize he had a few nice defensive plays tonight, but the rest of the series has shown that he has not been effective for us.
Our players do seem more rested in the 4th, I get that and I love it, but all 5 bench players shouldn't be on the floor at the same time. If you wanna rest Granger, move George to LeBron and put Jones on Wade. Then when Granger is ready, throw him back in for George(if he needs to rest) or Jones.
Making Barbosa guard Wade and Jones guard LeBron is just an insult to two superstars. Your giving some of the best players in the NBA an advantage by giving them huge mismatches on top of them being talented.

I think Vogel knows you have to lose a battle or two to win the war. If the bench gives up a league he believes that the starters will have fresh legs to make a run. And his bench shrinks down in the 2nd half.
