    Not surprised.

What do y'all wanna bet that everyone will be back in time for Christmas?

Anyway, we are now left with:

    C - Harrison/Edwards
    PF - Cro
    SF - JJ
    SG - Freddie
    PG - Tins/Gill

That's 7 players (as I predicted earlier). Don't we have to dress 8 to play?

Maybe they let us sign someone

Pollard or Bender will be forced to dress, even if they can't play.

What about the suspensions for all the players that left the Detroit bench when it was just a regular, old NBA-stare down?

NBA Suspends 3 Pacers, 1 Piston for Brawl

By LARRY LAGE, AP Sports Writer

NEW YORK - The NBA suspended Ron Artest, Jermaine O'Neal and Stephen Jackson of Indiana and Ben Wallace of Detroit on Saturday for taking part in one of the ugliest brawls in U.S. sports history.

The suspensions were indefinite, and the league was still investigating Friday night's melee, which commissioner David Stern called "shocking, repulsive and inexcusable a humiliation for everyone associated with the NBA."

The league issued a statement saying it was reviewing rules and security procedures "so that fans can continue to attend our games unthreatened by events such as the ones that occurred last night."

    [hr]

    I'm livid.

He should be all over the Pistons' management for thier lack of security and the need to protect 12 visiting players from 20,000 drunk, unruly fans.

Its unfortunate that it happened but it was preventable.

Hopefully Bender and everyone else will be back by Christmas. That's about 5 weeks.

I can see the players go on strike, this is so preposterous that it is unbelievable.

As far as I am concerned, they go down with all games, **** D Stern.

If I was owner of the P's there would be no play untill this situation was resolved and if forced to send a team it would be the local Y team

Stern is not going to be too critical of the Pistons, because the NBA is in effect in charge of security at the games with the help of the local police.

ESPN's studio crew last night had some interesting comments about how the players union will react

I wonder why they didn't suspend Anthony Johnson right away, since he can be seen landing a punch on a fan. BTW, wasn't that his broken hand he hit with?

``This demonstrates why our players must not enter the stands, whatever the provocation or poisonous behavior of people attending the games,'' Stern said.

    RIDICULOUS

What exactly do they mean by "when investigation is complete"?

How long are we talking till we know the exact length?

Looks like D. Stern is going to throw the Pacers orginization under the bus. Stern's comments are very unbelievable and seems like he totally absolves the Detroit orginization of any blame by saying there is never a reason to go into the stands.

What a cheap *** way for the league to get off this hook. If I didn't love the Pacers so much, I would nearly give my damn season tickets away. This is the ultimate show of disrespect to me as a supporter of the NBA. Our players need to be protected on the ROAD!!!

    Thanks for nothing D. Stern!

What David Stern is essentially saying, is no matter
what fans do it's OK. I agree that players should never...ever go into the stands but they must hold fans accountable for there actions. Detroit has to take some sort of action or you will see more of this. If fans start to believe they can get away with this type of action, get a few beers in them,
you will eventually have a more serious incident.

From this response I now believe we will see major suspensions for JO/Ron and Jack. Maybe in the 20-30 games type. Ron very well could be done for the year.

Suave, I think you hit on the key quote from david Stern. he can't do anything to the fans, but he can do a lot to the players.

Artest will get a huge suspension. Right now I would be happy with 20 games. Stern is foreshadowing what he is going to do.

Stern said the investigation should be complete by Sunday evening.

    I am getting nervous.

So much for a relaxing weekend

So are you guys arguing with the fact that Pacers players were suspended or that only Ben Wallace on the other side will get anything?

What if the players union or the Pacers, or the individual Pacer players sues the Pistons organization for their failure to keep them safe.

I suppose the Pacers could not sue the Pistons.

But I expect and I think the players association should get involved to protect their players from harm.

This is a lot more important than another other issue in the new CBA. if the union is worth a darn they must step up here and protect their players from physical harm..

I've seen no video of JO in the stands. Only on the court.

This season is up in flames
