Tell me more about this Varsity Club...Can normal humans eat there or are you restricted to certain seating arrangements.
Well, they let 5 of us Area 55ers in Monday night, painted and geared up. They gave us the choice of sitting at tables or on the rail. We took the rail.

My guess is that they'd let normal people in too. I'm sure we unswanked the place. We definitely did our best to bring it down a peg or two on the snootiness scale.

    Actually they treated us great!

Warning on the Quaker Steak Wings...go EARLY, prepare to wait. It's popular and they aren't just yanking them from a heat lamp.

With a brick column and a table right in front of their window you get a lot of people waiting for their name to be called at times. Don't assume people there are waiting to order, most are waiting for their wings.

    Worth the wait though.

Varsity Club requires only that you buy food. However come playoff time I'd bet that a rail seat might require a reservation, so if you are thinking about eating there during the game you might call and get ahead of the game.

Sitting on the rail is just being in an upper suite behind the baseline. You are having some decent food but it's not as good a location as you probably could have had if you wanted to be closer to the game.

There was a brief, and very decisive, and altogether unprecedented, outburst of genuine officiating, and it was directed at the best player in the world, and that, my dear young person, simply is not done."

Okay....this thread has convinced me that I have to have a light or early dinner before the game and then go get some wings at the Fieldhouse.

A long time ago (3 years or so) I went to a Harlem Globe trotters game/show. I had gotten nachos three ways. One portion was bbq, and I dont remember the other two on the tray. Anyways where are these, or at least good bbq nachos? Thanks.

Maybe hit the wrong game but against the Celtics it felt I missed half the game waiting in line to get a coke and pretzel on the uppercourse last year. Next time, I'll get it before the game or just hit something outside of Conseco after the game.

The cheeseburgers are really good at the Fieldhouse. That's what I normally get when I go. Loaded/supreme nachos are amazing. Also, Quaker State's wings are very good.

I believe their is a BBQ place on the side with Quaker Steak, but on the inside instead. I have not eaten there, but I'd assume that was where you got those nachos. I did not realize such a thing existed.

They had/have a Red Burrito (Hardees Mexican food) in the bench side concourse, but I don't think they do BBQ nachos.

I think they have bbq nachos at the corner stands on the balcony level. Dont remember which stands specifically though.

The case of the unobtainable nachos. lol. like I said it was 3 years ago. I know it was either main level or club. because during the show the balcony was "curtained". i also think it was on the baseline side. opposite of the entrance baseline. yes the nachos were that good.

Correct me if i am wrong. But i thought the varsity club required club level tickets to get in. There is a ticket person right infront of the place.

We got comp'd some tix for up coming preseason game. Hoping they are in the club level so we can eat there.

Not true. If you have reservations they will let you up to the club level to use them.

I've never tried getting them at Quaker State because the line is so scary,

But there is only one balcony corner stand where they sell the bbq nachos, and it's always the last corner I try.

It is easily the most/best food for your dollar (like $7.50 or $8.50). Like cheaper, better, and more food than the bbq nachos at most bars. I get it every time, and have only finished it by myself once.

The map of food locations is a good idea. Stick in the "Game Night" magazine.

Is there anything healthy to drink other than overpriced bottle water. I gave up regular soda 6 months ago and rarely does anyone carry a tolerable low calorie product. I just hate overpaying for water.

There are kinetico filtered drinking fountains...

There are some smoothie stands, not particularly low calorie but depending on the fruit could be healthy.

Thanks. Some calories aren't bad. Was more commenting on how the default diet sodas are garbage. I like smoothies. Overpaying for bottled water just annoys me since I just filter it with the fridge at home. Tonight will be my first game since I quit soda. Always use to get a souvenir mountain dew.

Right after going through the ticket gate, to the left near section 3 , there is a stand called market to go. The have a few sandwiches(turkey), fresh fruit, and raw veggies. I was also happy to find low cal Gatorade fruit punch(same stuff I drink at the gym)

The Reuben (Turkey, but you can't really tell) at Mel & Herbs Deli. Hot, made to order, and good. You used to get a pickle too, but they cut back. I think its $6.50. Terrific Deal.
I've been wondering if it was still open. When I went to a few games last season I didn't get anything from there, but I remember their Reuben was very good.

When I would get something to eat at BLF, it'd probably be from there or Quaker Steak & Lube. Their wings are the bomb.

Hardees has a turkey burger now, you can even get it lettuce wrapped instead of a bun.
