Thread: Best food inside the Fieldhouse?

Default Best food inside the Fieldhouse?

Let's say I had a few too many and needed some food to sober up, or I get the munchies at halftime...where should I go? What's the best single item from the vendors inside the arena?

Main level, go to the Quaker State Wings. A little messy, but damn, I think they are THE best wings in Indianapolis.

Grady raves about the Wings at the Quaker Steak and Lube outside of Section 16, I will be trying those this Wednesday.

EDIT: PacersCenter beat me to the punch

You won't be able to get anything in the 4th quarter, they close everything down when the beer closes down

    All main concourse:

The Quaker Steak and Lube wings are good, if you don't like greasy go for the chipotle rub ones. Nice and dry.

Hoosier Favorites (also section 16) has a pretty good beef barbecue, you get sandwich + chips + cole slaw for one price.

The Brat stand opposite side (section 4, I think) has Italian Sausage w/peppers & onions.

The guy at the stand alone popcorn/peanut stand there at the section 4 side used to keep the peanut bags in the popcorn warmer so you got hot peanuts. Mmmmmmmm. Don't know if he still does or not.

I've heard good things about them wings as well. I might have to try some this Wednesday too. The best non alcoholic drink to get is the iced coffee down at the dunking donuts. Its under $3 for a large. They have various flavors as well. Much better value than the $5 soda. They have Hardee's and Donatos there as well, but I like to keep the game food simple, and not risk running to the toilets.

I also like the bbq nachos across from the Quaker State Wings stand...they are loaded up. Really I can only eat half of them.

There's a Quaker Steak n' lube in the Fieldhouse? The only place ive had it at is in Dayton, Ohio.. They do have pretty good food!

.... Also I've always wondered where you could get the bbq nachos from.. My buddy had it once and i didn't realize it wasn't at the normal stations. (I normally tend to not get any food at a game but if i do i go to the "food court" type areas with the generic places... Obviously i've been missing out!)

    I agree 1 through 3 100%

Soft pretzel and cheese is a good snack. All the basket meals are good too.

Don't get the ones from the regular concession stands, those are awful.

The ones from the cart outside section 15 (i think) are pretty good.

I usually have the munchies from sacrificing the sacred plant to the fire gods and usually go for wherever has traditional nachos and jalapenos, followed by a banana shaved ice and sometimes a bag of cotton candy towards the end of the game.

The Reuben (Turkey, but you can't really tell) at Mel & Herbs Deli. Hot, made to order, and good. You used to get a pickle too, but they cut back. I think its $6.50. Terrific Deal.

The sandwiches on the Main Level sold with veggies etc. The stuff's all kept in a reach-in cooler type display. Don't know about the veggies, etc., but Colin Lott and I had one each of the sandwiches (mine was an Italian Sub and his was a Tuscan Beef) and we both gave it a very favorable thumbs up. $8.50, I think, but excellent.

The Varsity Club's got a $28.50 all you can eat buffet that's usually a good deal. Drinks and/or desserts are extra. For the Detroit game I pigged out on sliced sirloin steak, Caesar salad, and Oysters Rockefeller. A pretty good deal.

I really enjoy the Turtle Brownie from the cupcake stand just outside of section 20. I know it's a little cashy, I think around $3.50 or $4.00, but OMG the thing is HUGE and it is sooooooo good....

Tell me more about this Varsity Club...Can normal humans eat there or are you restricted to certain seating arrangements.

"But, first, let us now praise famous moments, because something happened Tuesday night in Indianapolis that you can watch a lifetime’s worth of professional basketball and never see again. There was a brief, and very decisive, and altogether unprecedented, outburst of genuine officiating, and it was directed at the best player in the world, and that, my dear young person, simply is not done."

I love donatos pizza, but usually the ones served at the game aren't as good because they're not always freshly made...
