I haven't dropped the Pacers. I attended my usual handful of games this year (a Mordechai Brown handful, considering the shortened season). And I listened to Mark and Slick many evenings while building spreadsheets. I never claimed to be more than a casual fan, and I'm still that.

I haven't posted on this forum, that's all.

I think that count55 could be in the same category of Putnam....he still moderates and posts on RealGM for the Pacer forum there. He just doesn't post on PD anymore.

This is David West, he is the Honey Badger, West just doesn't give a *****....he's pretty bad *ss cuz he has no regard for any other Player or Team whatsoever.

I looked at the MembersList and came up with a few. I only selected those that have not visited in the last year that had a lot of posts for user names that I remember. Some of these user names may have been changed.

Well, Jermainiac and Sweabsy didn't leave of their own accord. Sadly, the Organization of Noble Enumerators didn't survive the O'Brien years. Nice to see Putty again, though.

Also, JayRedd and Count55 seem pretty busy at 8pts9secs, and at least one of them is not missed, not at all, not by anyone. Best couple my ***.

A bit off topic, but where is P4E? One of my favorite posters. Despite poor grammar, I appreciate his basketball insights.

As I recall, ajbry starting coming around a lot less not too long after we traded SJax. So not a direct casualty of O'Brien-related frustration syndrome.

I must admit that after O'Brien got extended I watched less - probably less than half the games. It's not that I didn't care - still watched highlights from the games, still tracked stats - I was just burned out over the style of basketball being played and couldn't watch so many full games of it. I still came here almost everyday.

If he hadn't gotten fired I would have stopped doing League Pass. The team had my full attention again the moment Vogel appeared on the scene. I didn't expect to see much in the way of improvement immediately and was really pleasantly surprised to be wrong. The press conference where he declared "We don't take bad shots anymore," and "This is the new Indiana Pacers," among other gems, was when I started to get excited. Clearly our various acquisitions have all helped are great deal in total - but I think we'd still have been better than before (though not as good as we are now) just because of Vogel's influence.

It feels so good to be excited for the playoffs again.

Huh. Hopefully not, but he did stop posting kind of out of the blue. I'm pretty sure he used to go to the games at least occasionally. Has anyone seen him there recently?

Jermaniac cracked me up as well as JayRedd I think Jermaniac was also aka datdude? He had a thread in one of the off topic parts of the board called "ask jermaniac" that was pretty hilarious. Didn't JayRedd have a status around here for a while "hating jayredd". Also our old game thread creator BostonConnection haven't seen him in a while.

Guys, I didn't see this til just now. I was only making a guess as to the whereabouts of P4E. He's an area 55 member and hasnt been seen and posted on here several times a day but hasnt for a while. For such a big Pacers fan that's the only logical explaination with him being so young but hopefully I am wrong.

That's better than where it went with JR and LG33. Just play Mad Libs with the preposition and object, just about any combo is probably somewhat accurate.

Personally I think LG didn't like the competition for funniest poster.

BTW, being locked up hasn't stopped me from posting. NO EXCUSES P4E!
I also have a furlough that allows me to attend games/steal purses at games. It's a win/win.

My story is a bit different, I am 100% Californian and the first time I set on eyes on the Pacers was a old basketball game I had. Live 96 IIRC. My friend would always pick the Lakers and I would counter with Reggie. Thru there I followed the Pacers thru my child hood. Also, helps that I'm a huge UCLA bruin fan. I remember watching the Pacers in the playoffs and hearing that old NBC theme song. I was fairly young and didn't know the game all that too well. Then I lost interest for a while. I picked it up thru Reggie's final last 2 years again. I shed tears when he retired (pistons game). Then after the brawl I stopped following the Pacers again. Because I was more of a Miller fan. Then as I grew older I started following them again. After Grangers 2nd 3rd year. I saw something special. And I was pissed that we traded artest for Peja... But now I am a avid Pacer fan. Have a few jerseys ad hope to add that sweet PG jersey throwback soon. Love what this team has become. And although it was easy to be a Laker fan I kept the Blue and Gold blood flowing thru my vain. We might not win 18 tittles but we sure as heck will have our epic battles in the future.
I hope to see a few Indy games in the field house in the future! Maybe fly out there next year and catch a few playoff games

    By me ^^

Yup. Even before he played a single game in a Pacers uniform I couldn't shut up about him. Now people listen lol

By the way, you were probably like me then, and you missed the Colts superbowl I'm guessing?

I mean so awesome they won, but I remember talking to people from home and they're saying, "Colts won omg!" and I'm thinking "you wouldn't even watch the games with me before dick!"
I was actually National Guard, but was active 3.5 years out of my 6 year enlistment, and luckily happened to be home for the Colts Super Bowl.

Big law doesn't allow much time for posting (once in the last 18 months, I think).

Moving back to Indiana in the fall. Too many years on the east coast.

It's comforting to know this season has to have knocked this old meter down a notch or two:
