Default Pacers / Grizzlies / Suns | Summer trade

Suns Trade: Steve Nash (S&T), something like $20m for 2 years
Receive: Darren Collison, Tyler Hansbrough, Pacers lotto protected future 1st

    Grizzlies Trade: Mike Conley
    Receive: Steve Nash

Pacers Trade: Darren Collison, Tyler Hansbrough, Lotto protected future 1st
    Receive: Mike Conley

    Why for:
Suns : If they can't add pieces around Nash, the best thing they could do is get value for him.
Grizzlies : With their cap situation there are no other ways of really upgrading their talent. Adding Nash next to Gay/Randolph/Gasol could turn them into true contenders.
Pacers : Get a defensive minded point guard who is still young and fits their young core of players.

    Our new rotation:
    Conley/Hill
    George/Hill (or FA)
    Granger/Jones
    West/FA
    Hibbert/FA

Why is Conley at least as good as an option as Nash?
Because Nash is 38 and would have a 2 year contract. This team+Nash would be huge, but would it really be good enough to beat the Heat and the Bulls? I don't know. What I do know is that after these 2 years we'd have nothing as Nash will retire.
With Conley, we get a good point guard who knows how to play defense, has shown he can be a starting point guard for a playoffs team, is young (will be 25 next season), and has a looong contract.

SO we could basically chose between Nash and Conley...I would not include the 1st but everything else is okay, I think if a first needs to be protected then you can probably get a Conley type player with that pick.
    Why so SERIOUS

    Hans and DC, yes.

    Hans, DC and pick, no.

I would include the pick to the Suns for Lopez, who is a RFA. Just depends if the sign and trade is not abysmal. 3yrs 15M?

This is a decent trade, but I don't know if Memphis pulls the trigger and I don't love Conley's salary. I'd rather sign Nash straight up, trade DC and the pick for another piece, and keep Tyler.

I dont like the trade at all. I think Memphis would jump all over it and laugh. We would basically give up Tyler and a 1st just to swap undersized semi-productive pg's. I dont like Conley anymore than Collison. If he wasnt from Indiana would this be a discussion?

No. Conley is a great player but the upgrade from DC to Conley is not big enough to warrant DC + Hans + pick.

I love DC+Hans for Conley, but like others, I'd really like to see another asset come back to us if we're sending out a first as well.

I'd do this if we got Nash, not Conley.

I really like what Conley did this year. He really has developed into a much better player than he has been up to this point. He is someone who would make us a better basketball team tomorrow. And I have been a Conley hater for a while, just because he gets way too much love for what he isn't on this forum. That said, there is no reason whatsoever for us to get involved in a trade like this. If we look at this situation, why wouldn't we just go out and try to sign Nash outright for less than we'd be paying Conley and for fewer years?

I would love to trade Collison, Hansborough, and a first for Conley, but I don't think that would fly with Memphis (IMO). That or I would just look to sign Nash. The Suns have no leverage in a deal like this and that is way too much for them to receive given the situation.
