I'm sorry, I know a lot of work went into this, and I'm fully on-board with A new look for the Pacers, but not THIS new look.

The jersey is way too busy and tries too hard.

The court re-design is a good idea too, but I'd rather have blue around the outside of the floor as the yellow makes it look washed out.

The logo is the best part of this, and it still needs some work. I am a HUGE fan of the old logo and would fully support its return, but splicing the new and old just seems forced. Maybe if you lose the motion stripes and change the hand a little bit... I don't know. Keep the basketball instead of the tennis ball, and somehow update the hand.

Also, while I appreciate the effort Mr. Phillipe put into this, the video is soooo over-dramatic, I can't even watch it. Reign that in a little bit.

Sorry, but I agree 100% with this post. I REALLY don't want the 80's letters back either...

Flo Jos were the best old Pacers jerseys, so I would prefer to go back to those over anything.

I appreciate the hard work that Mr. Phillipe put into this, but I don't like most of his vision. Never was a fan of the 80's Pacers look and wouldn't want to return to it.
On a side note, I do like the Indiana shape cut out.

I said it before and I got blasted by a lot of people for it.

I absolutely love the amount of effort that went into this. I don't love re-hashing old ideas and trying to make them new again. Philly did it successfully, yes. Washington, yes. But mixing the two logos together, it looks like it was just done in a few minutes. No creativity.

The wordmark for the 85-90 uniforms was cool, in 85-90. A throwback? Sure. Permanently? No. What makes throwbacks cool is the fact that we don't always wear them. They aren't permanent. I'd like to see something along the lines as revolutionary. A breakthrough. Not a re-hash of old designs that don't even fit inside one era together.

I'm sure I am just rambling, but we should keep the logo as is, not go back to the old one because it just wouldn't be as cool anymore.

I like the flo Jo mods that someone made back in the summer
I still like my original dark blue one(bottom left) the best, but the Flo-Jo ones got the most love.

Also, I want to mention something...

With that particular typeset, our record was 197-295.

    84-85 we were 22-60
86-87 we went 1-3 in the Playoffs
We had 4 different (yes, FOUR) different coaches in 88-89. (Jack Ramsay, George Irvine, Mel Daniels and Dick Versace.)
89-90 we were swept in the first round.

This is a style that is synonymous with losing. With the team on the upswing it's only a good idea if changes to be made, change with the idea of new beginnings in mind.

This is why the Flo-Jo's get so much love, IMO. They're cool on their own because they're different than anything else out there. But more importantly, they were from a time period where we were on the upswing as a franchise and they're associated with most of Reggie's great moments.

I would love to see something new and unique to coincide with our current upswing. This season is just the beginning of another good era (knock on wood), and it would be awesome to see a new look to go with it.

Sleeze, I still like your version a lot. That's why I thanked the post. Well, that and because I saw the tagline above your avatar, "Enjoying some Cranbaisins." I lol'd, I love that show. rel also has some awesome ideas for a new look.

I've been trying to think of something cool myself, but I'm not the photoshop wiz that you guys are, so I'm sketching and using Paint, lol. Currently, I'm trying to incorporate the racing aspect of Indy and the name "Pacers" with a checkered flag look down the side. It's kinda weird, but kinda cool cuz it's unique.

When I first read this I thought it said "racist aspect of Indy". Man I need to get some more coffee. You have to be careful with the checkered flag thing, you don't want it to look like the Charlotte Bobcats nascar uniforms:

There was one Pacer uni version that a guy did tire treads down the side, pretty original.

That CHA uniform has too much going on. Checkers on both sides and pinstripes...

Here's my idea, but like I said, the quality is not great. Feel free to hate on it because I'm not exactly sold on it being a good idea. Just thought I'd draw it out and put it on here to gauge reaction. If one of you guys that's actually good at photoshop likes the idea, feel free to take it and make it look good.

The blacked out one would obviously be an alternate. I thought it might be cool to do since the actual checkered flag is black and white. In the bottom one, I made the checkers bigger because I thought the smaller ones looked a little too busy and cluttered. Again, this was just an idea I had to be original and incorporate the racing, Indy 500 theme that the name "Pacers" hints at. I should probably have used a slightly darker blue too.

I think something like this would be cool, especially with the Indiana state flag star and torch on the side of the shorts. Simple but, simple stupid is typically the best nba jerseys.

I love all these mock up designs and what not. I think all of them have aspects which could be adopted into a minor rebranding of the team. The one thing that I absolutely adore from the Phillippe campaign is the cutout of the state of Indiana in the D. I think that is fantastic. The 80s retro stuff is very, very 80s and as far as I am concerned that can stay in the 80s. I have no problem with our current logo or colors. The jerseys need some work and we could tinker with the court design. I like incorporating the past and the state and Hoosier heritage in there, but in subtle nods.

I'd rather see a vintage look on the Pacers rather than a mashed-smorgasbord of eras. Personally, I'd love to see the Pacers redeem this:

It matches the Fieldhouse and the city too well.

Question: Is there a rule prohibiting the player's name from being beneath the number on the back of the jersey?

I swear I've seen a jersey like this before and I loved it, but I know there has to be enough space to accommodate for long last names.

That looks like something a middle school girls basketball team would wear.

Interesting considering the pacers used a similar design from 84-90 with the stripe across the front.
