    Default For the Doubters....

Since Vogel inherited Jim O'Brien's 17-27 Squad.

Noboby thought we could win go above .500 to finish the season. We go 20-18

Nobody thought we could make the playoffs. We got the 8th seed

Nobody thought we could challenge Chicago. We were up in the 4th in 4 of the 5 games

Nobody thought we would be in front of the Celtics, Knicks, Hawks, Magic this season. We are

Nobody thought we would win 40 games. We did

Nobody thought we could beat the Bulls, Heat, Lakers, Mavericks, Thunder, just to name a few in one season. We have.

Now coming going into the playoffs people are still doubting.

People will doubt we can beat the Magic.

People Will doubt we can beat the Heat.

People will doubt we can beat the Bulls.

Lastly, People will doubt we can win the NBA Championship.

If these last 2 seasons have taught you anything about this Vogel led Pacers squad its to expect the unexpected.

So I say to the doubters, continue doubting. The Pacers will shock you. We will beat the Magic, we will beat the Heat, we will beat the Bulls, and we will WIN THE NBA CHAMPIONSHIP!

Here's to a great season! GO PACERS!

Hell yes! The NBA, Indiana citizens, and the entire nation have doubted our Pacers for too long. I get chastised by classmates, saying that the Pacers suck, that the Bulls are way better, that the Pacers may be good for now, but "wait for Derrick Rose to shoot the lights out." Some one even said that you can't do s*** in the NBA unless your one of the top 3 teams. OH WAIT, I tell them, THE PACERS ARE THIRD IN THE EAST, BEHIND WHO? THE BULLS AND HEAT!

So take your doubt and suck on it, haters. Our Pacers have metamorphisized more in the past two years than the Bulls, Heat, Magic, Sixers, Celtics, Bucks, Hawks, and arguably the Knicks. We have so much talent, potential, energy, and youth. The only thing we lack (collectively, as this Pacers team) is playoff experience. And we're about to get a full dose of how it feels to be a 3rd seed, playing a 6th seed.

At the very least, this year will be the learning experience of a lifetime. With FA, the draft, and a full 82-games next season, I have to say that 2012-13 will be OUR YEAR. But I still think we have a chance at making it this year.

Regardless, you guys can keep doubting the Pacers. But when I become an überfan for a team, I don't let anything stand in my mental way of rooting them onto a championship. We can do it! This team is 10x better than last year, and we have one chance to prove that we can stand up against the super teams of the NBA.

I cannot wait for the playoffs to begin!! I will never stop supporting these Pacers!

Bu what's the point in coming into someone's thread, who is doing nothing but trying to hype up the rest of his fellow fans for the playoffs, just to say that there is no possible way we can do it? It's rude, and even if it's how you feel, all you're doing is (a) making the rest of us diehard, sunshiner, hopeful Pacers fans look like idiots, and (b) making yourself look like a douche who's just trying to ruin our spirits.

Are the odds against us making it to the Finals, let alone winning? Hell yeh! But the odds have been against the Pacers since The Lunatic Formerly Known As Artest ran swinging into the stands of the Palace of Auburn Hills. We have since overcome the obstacles, punched adversity in the face, and went from a no-seed team to third in the East, below a pair of super teams who, without one or two players, would be sitting below us.

It's called hope. Don't ruin it for the rest of us just because you can see the future and "know" the Pacers won't make it out of the first round. You're not just a psychic vampire, you're a troll, too.

and suck on our blues and golds.

Because of the similarities between our team and an NCAA team (teamwork, no superstar, underdogs, etc.), I think that, after we win our first series against whoever, we should let the players and Coach Vogel cut down the net! We deserve that kind of celebration for our comradery.

I don't give a **** about what anyone says. This team reminds me of the 2010 Butler team. Built from 2 two star recruits, they made the championship game...2 years straight. Pacers have compiled a 40-22 record good enough for 5th best in the league with no player on the roster drafted above #10. Frank Vogel reminds me of Brad Stevens also.

And I just gave my opinion on how I felt about your opinion. I'm not usually one to call names, so I apologize for that factor. But I still think your opinion sucks, no matter how relevant or plausible it is. Okay, so let's just have everyone on the board believe that we have no chance of exiting the first round. That sounds great for what many here believe to be the best fanbase in league.

There are enough Hoosiers who don't believe in the Pacers even a little bit, let alone people in the rest of the country. So why not buck up a bit and, just for a second, BELIEVE that the Pacers can make it to the Finals. Is that so much to do?

Nevermind, you probably don't give two s***s about it.

Edit: to remain on-topic, I'm currently in battle with a doubter, so I believe that's relevant enough.

The Pacer's very well could have a legitimate shot at winning it all this year.

They may not be the smooth operators a wily team like the Spurs are, or they
may not have a superstar so dominant he can just take over any game any
time he gets motivated, but what they do have is an entire team of players
from top to bottom who are young, strong, healthy, and fast that all play
very well together that can come at you in waves and waves in unrelenting
fashion and wear you down to the point that if you don't execute perfectly
it will be very difficult to beat them.

This really is a unique team with a unique identity and style of how they go
about dominating games. If they just go out and play their best basketball
and stay in full throttle attack mode rather than playing just to not lose,
I really beleive they could even end up sweeping whoever it is they match
up with in the first round. And if something like that happens (which very
well could), their confidence will soar and they will get into a "we will keep
on sweeping" mindset. This team is going to be a very very tough matchup
for any team they meet in the playoffs no matter what round.

Yes, they most definately have a very good shot to win the big show.

Do I expect the Pacers to win a championship this year? No, I don't. I honestly don't know what is going to happen though - this whole season has felt like a wildcard. Almost nothing would surprise me. I'm excited to see how it turns out.

For today I will go with the sunshine vibe set by the OP and share this find:

Highlights are from last season at the start of the Vogel era. Fun anyway!

I honestly do not get why some people post in here to try to tell people we more than likely won't win the championship this year. Every year no matter how good a team is playing, if it is between them and the field you take the field. It is just common sense. That being said, I don't know why people seriously respond that we have no or little shot. It is not going to change some people's opinions and is there really any harm in believing in your team?

I do not think so. If anyone gets that down after a pro team with high expectations fails, then they need to re-prioritize their life. It is not like sunshiners are going to jinx us with their lofty predictions so let them have their moment.

Let's just get excited and have fun. We're good again!!!!!

There are 16 teams starting the playoffs, all with the same expections-to win a championship.
Does anyone that has played competitive sports ever entered a game believing they could not win?
If you did, you should not have been playing.

Do you think the Heat believe they can't win. Do you think the Bulls, Spurs, Lakers and OKC believe they can't win.

Only one team, out of 16, can win. The only teams that can't win are the 14 that are not in the playoffs.

So can the Pacers win the Championship? You damn right they can and until they lose 4 games in a series, they have a chance.

    GO PACERS !!!

I would rather be the hammer than the nail

So anyone saying that Pacers wont win NBA championship in 2012 is a doubter? I am happy about the Pacers, i root for this team for over a decade no matter how bad or good they do, but like people said OKC is not there yet last year i can tell same about Pacers, they are not in the mix yet.

And i am being reasonable, by being realistic i root for Pacers all season long on the same pace, while most of the people tend to get over excited, or over pesimistic, that happened all year.
