=== Browns, Packers, Jets get 4 compensatory picks ===
New York, NY (Sports Network) - The Cleveland Browns, Green Bay Packers and
New York Jets were each awarded the maximum four compensatory picks in the NFL
The league announced a total of 32 compensatory picks Monday.
The selections, added to rounds 3-7, are handed out to teams that lost more or
better compensatory free agents than it acquired in the previous year, up to a
maximum of four.
The Indianapolis Colts, expected to take Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck at
No. 1 overall, were among three teams that received three extra picks.
The Oakland Raiders and Pittsburgh Steelers also received three each, while
the Baltimore Ravens and Minnesota Vikings were awarded two. The Ravens have
been awarded more compensatory picks -- 33 -- than any other team since 1994.
The Falcons, Bills, Panthers, Cowboys, Giants, Rams and Chargers all received
one extra pick.
The formula only netted 30 compensatory picks, so two were awarded at the end
of the seventh round to the Rams and Colts to bring the number to 32.
