You guys are a lot luckier than me. I saw this a few hours ago and it took me a few tries to even get us to win the first series.

I got it in my 15th try

What's weird was that in all those simulations the Heat won the title as many times as we did. Only 1

I got a Pacers vs. Heat ECF matchup on my first try. The Heat won the ECF and then lost to OKC in the Finals.

I got the same results using the Accuscore rankings. If the Pacers face a Chicago Bulls team with a hobbled Derrick Rose, they have a very good chance of advancing against them. Other than Miami, the Pacers match up against the Bulls the best in the East.

I had the Pacers beating the Spurs in the finals after about 10 tries, we all know how that goes down George Hill with the Dagger 3 pointer burying his former team as time expires in game 7...I can dream

I quit after about 60 tries. Of course, after it took me 8 or 9 times to get 1 pacers victory, I was a little concerned their random generator was streaky. Which it did seem to be...i kept getting huge strings of either pacers or 6ers series wins. I stopped recording after 50:

    Thunder: 17 wins
    Heat: 11 wins
    Spurs: 8 wins
    Bulls: 8 wins
    Magic: 2 wins
Mavs, Knicks, 76ers, Celtics: 1 each

    Pacers vs. 76ters: 29 76ers to 21 Pacers wins.

Whoever decided on %'s loves the Spurs and the Thunder , and especially OKC. They get cupcake matches first 2 rounds, and first 3 if one or the other happens to get kicked out. The EC side is more even heh

First time I ran it I got the Pacers winning the championship. Second time I ran it the Pacers were in the Finals. I think every time I've ran it the Pacers have at least won a series.

best i got is Finals vs Spurs, and we lose. Most of the time Phillie beats us, which is BS considering we'll have home court. This thing clearly values home court a lot but they don't see us having it vs. Phillie for some reason.

    maybe

but I think Doug Collins would have the edge in coaching, and this is not meant to disrespect Vogel, who I think is on the way to becomming a very good coach, but Doug has a wealth of experience and knowledge and I think to beat Philly in a seven game series would be much more difficult than some feel

I think Philly's going to disappoint in the playoffs since they shoot so many jumpers and barely get to the line at all.

Agreed. Plus, they are the worst team in the league (THE LEAGUE!) when it comes to Winning % in close games.

    NBA champs on my simulations:

    1) Magic
    2) Spurs
    3) Spurs
    4) Bulls
    5) Spurs
    6) Thunder
    7) Thunder
    8) Heat
    9) Spurs
    10) Spurs

The Pacers never got out of the second round, and more often than not didn't make it past Philly.

So, I run it 60 times. 20 times with each model. Here are the results I got:

    Current standings:

    Titles:

    OKC: 8

    Spurs: 4

    Mavericks: 1

Grizzlies: 1 (vs the Sixers in the Finals)

    Bulls: 5

    Heat: 1

    Pacers vs Sixers: 8 - 12

The Pacers went to the Finals once and lost to the Spurs. The Sixers went twice and lost to the Grizzlies and the Thunder.

    Hollinger playoff odds:

    Titles:

    Mavericks: 3

    Bulls: 4

    Spurs: 7

Sixers: 1 (vs the Grizzlies in the Finals)

Pacers: 1 (vs the Thunder in the Finals)

    OKC: 2

    Heat: 1

    Celtics: 1

    Magic: 1

Pacers vs Magic (Hollinger has us at 6th against the Magic): 7 - 13

Surprise Finals appearances: Sixers thrice, Nuggets once, Grizzlies once, Pacers once, Celtics once

    Accuscore Rankings:

    Bulls: 3

    Spurs: 5

    Heat: 4

    OKC: 4

    Magic: 1

    Sixers: 1

    Mavericks: 2

    Pacers vs Sixers: 7 - 13

Surprise Finals appearances: Pacers twice (lost to the Spurs and OKC), Sixers twice (beat OKC, lost to the Spurs), Clippers once (lost to Miami), Knicks once (lost to OKC), Rockets once (lost to Miami)

Also, the Pacers lost 2 times in the ECF so we made it there 4 times out of 20.

I'm going to enjoy winning a ton of money on the money line if they go in as favorites vs anybody.
