Wow, that was quick. Tebow in New York? Somehow, someway, the media frenzy's about to get worse. -

Let me be the first to say, that's not going to work.
Rex and Tebow together? Are you kidding me?
That's like if God and Satan were on one team.Comment

Re: Tim Tebow traded to Jets for 4th round pick
According to one report out of NY this morning, reported on Mike and Mike, he's being brought in to help with their toxic locker room situation. I hope they arm him first...http://www.grantland.com/blog/the-tr...nce-stephenson
"But, first, let us now praise famous moments, because something happened Tuesday night in Indianapolis that you can watch a lifetime’s worth of professional basketball and never see again. There was a brief, and very decisive, and altogether unprecedented, outburst of genuine officiating, and it was directed at the best player in the world, and that, my dear young person, simply is not done."Comment

I really feel bad for him. He basically loses his starting job and gets the worst backup role he could ever have in NFL.Comment

Re: Tim Tebow traded to Jets for 4th round pick
Not so fast, they seem to have hit a snag in the trade:
After word spread rapidly Wednesday that the New York Jets had acquired quarterback Tim Tebow from Denver for draft picks, the teams have encountered a hang-up in the language in Tebow's contract that could nullify the trade, a Broncos source tells ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.
In Tebow's contract is a $6.2 million salary advance, of which $1.2 million already has been paid by Denver. The difference of $5 million is still advanced against his future salary, and that burden would shift to the Jets in a trade. The Jets, source said, believe the Broncos should owe Tebow that money.
The trade, then, will not be finalized until the sides resolve their differences over which should pay the money coming to Tebow.

Here's an update from Mike Klis of the Denver Post.
Tim Tebow trade to Jets not finalized; is trouble brewing? : First-and-Orange is the authority on the latest breaking news and analysis about the Denver Broncos, written by Troy E. Renck, Nicki Jhabvala and other Denver Post sports writers. Colorado
Tebow trade not finalized
The contract says any team acquiring Tebow has to kick back $5.06375 million to the Broncos in advanced salaries from the 2012, 2013 and 2014 seasons, according to an NFL source.
Tebow received $6,277,500 million as advances from salaries in 2011 ($1,213,750); 2012 ($1,425,000); 2013 ($1,691,250) and 2014 ($1.92 million). Broncos paid the 2011 advance (and got their money’s worth as Tebow led them from a 1-4 start under Kyle Orton to the playoffs). But as Tebow would be a Jet today with completion of trade, Jets would be assigned Tebow’s contract.
The Broncos paid the advance, but the 2012, 2013 and 2014 salaries still go to team that gets Tebow’s services.
The Broncos expect the Jets to pay them back those salary advances from 2012-14 per Tebow’s contract. The Jets are balking. There is a decent chance this deal may die.
Apparently the Rams or the Jaguars may jump in, with a lesser offer, since each knew of this clause and were hesitant because of it, while the Jets didn't seem to pay attention to details. The poster "pacertom" since this forum began (and before!). I changed my name here to "Slick Pinkham" in honor of the imaginary player That Bobby "Slick" Leonard picked late in the 1971 ABA draft (true story!).Comment

Deal is done, Tebow is a New York Jet. Denver and NY split the money Tebow was owed.

Re: Tim Tebow traded to Jets for 4th round pick
This reeks of a "Crap, our franchise has been talking a bunch of s*** for a few years while the team we share our stadium with just went out and won it's second Super Bowl in 5 years (both against our biggest rival) and now completely owns the NY metro area, so let's just trade for Tim Tebow so we can get some much needed attention, even though we don't need him" type move to me......Comment
