Major scoopage! The Chicago Bears have agreed to terms of a trade w Miami for pro bowl WR Brandon Marshall in exchange for 2 third-rounders.

I guess no Peyton to Miami??

so happy!! Jay has been recruiting him all off season

His contract is very team friendly also almost no guaranteed money.

This kind of bums me out. As an Orlando resident I wanted to see Manning on the Dolphins, but I guess that's not happening.

Great move for Chicago. They were a solid looking team last year before Cutler went down.

This definitely puts a huge dent in Miami's chances of getting Manning.

or maybe Miami ask them to trade Marshall?? I don't know two 3rds for a top 5 WR feels like stealing. I would think if they shopped him longer they could of got at least a 2 and 3 if not more. I think Miami has something up their sleeve if they dont this trade makes no sense for them IMO.

But with this move the Bears can afford Mario Williams and Carl Nicks if they so choose NFL network just said. We saved so much money by not giving out a ton for Vincent Jackson that we can be players and bulid a great OL. Mario will get too much I hope we dont shell out 100m on him.

I think they already knew they had little chance of getting Manning if they made this deal.

Good point. I don't think it was a good sign for them that they had to go to Indy to meet him whereas he went to Denver and Arizona himself.

WR Pierre Garcon signed a five-year, $42.5 million deal with Redskins that includes $21 million in guarantees, according to league source

WOWsers that is overpaying I think V-Jax may get 13 per year. Thank god we traded instead if that is the market. I guess with the new rookie pay scale vets will be getting a lot more $$.

That's just dumb money. That's why they're the Redskins.

Indy's talking to Baltimore DE Cory Redding.

The poster "pacertom" since this forum began (and before!). I changed my name here to "Slick Pinkham" in honor of the imaginary player That Bobby "Slick" Leonard picked late in the 1971 ABA draft (true story!)

Thank goodness... his rookie year he swatted balls down left and right, with Powers... but then suddenly was terrible after that.. he got a lot of tackles, but that's because he couldn't cover and his guy got the ball a lot.

That was my first thought when I saw he was traded... Peyton just talked to them yesterday... now they trade their best WR who has had attitude issues? Coincidence?

The Washington Redskins have agreed to a two-year deal with free agent wide receiver Eddie Royal, Mike Jones of The Washington Post reports.

According to Jones, Royal's deal is worth $12 million.

His deal is really a 2 year deal. I have not heard an "official" number, but rumor is it is 7-9.5 million.

I am assuming that means his contract has a hard core performance clause (and to state the obvious, they drafted it as a 5 year deal to spread out the guaranteed money)

Eddie was offered 12 million 2 years.

He has NOT accepted the offer yet

EDIT: Its official now. 2/12 no word on the signing bonus yet

EDIT: No its not. as of 2014 EST he is still reviewing all his offers. 2/12 is the offer for Washington, but rumor is many teams are talking to his agent now. I imagine his fax machine is getting lit up right now.

UPDATE 2045: Deal softening. Looks like other teams are making some good offers he and his agent are looking at now

Love all the cuts without all the facts.

    Snyder spent dumb money.

Once Bruce Allen came on, and hired Shanny, they both have a whole different mentality. Hence why they even have so much money to spend (even after they were robbed of 18M of it)

If they were just spending wildly they would have offered V-Jax a huge deal, which is exactly what his agent proposed. Bruce and Mike literally laughed out loud, then went on exploring other options

Garçon on that contract is just stupidly overpaid. He isn't a 1 but is being paid like it. The skins need OL help don't know if they can afford it now. Also fletcher needs to get paid I just think 42m is crazy overpaying I bet some other gms are lol at it

    V,
That's still way too much money for garcon. He is getting number 1 money fornumber 2 production.
