Default Colts field calls to trade Freeney

    Per Adam Schefter of ESPN

"Filed to ESPN: Colts are fielding telephone calls from teams interested in trading for perennial Prow Bowl defensive end Dwight Freeney"

    https://twitter.com/#!/AdamSchefter

Personally I think it's a great thing. He just flat out doesn't fit. Still has some value around the league.

I hate to say it but this has to happen. Freeney has been a big part of Colts football but he is just not suited for the 3-4. As much as I have liked him on and off the field it is obvious. I think wherever he goes he would be successful. I would be looking for that big DT or LB that has experience playing the 3-4 that we need in a trade. I still hope we take a look at Farrior. Time to get a new jersey anyway. I would really hope a trade to the NFC so we don't have to see him blasting Luck in a game.

Yeah, I suggested that this would happen. I wonder if they will get any offers... if not I could see him getting cut, not sure what day he will have to be cut so he can enter the FA class but I think the Colts will try to make a deal soon a 4th round pick or better and I would have to think he would be gone, personally with his contract that is all I could see a team give draft pick wise, we could possibly get a player with lower potential or someone decent with a bad contract in return.
    Why so SERIOUS

When Walsh went into rebuild mode for the Pacers in 99 and 2000 I thought it was a stupid move. A fluke loss in the ECF's in '99 and a first ever finals trip in 2000 isn't the stuff of 'time to rebuild' IMHO....

But a 2-14 season, even without Peyton Manning, is a sign it's time to rebuild. The foundation just isn't there and Manning's contract would've guaranteed it won't be there in his limited window of time.

Trading Freeney makes a ton of sense to me.
Nuntius was right. I was wrong. Frank Vogel has retained his job.
