    50/50? let's hope is us

    RocketFan09

What do you see happening with the ATL Roster come March 15??.. And We All Know T-Mac isnt as healthy and youthful as he used to be but do you see him getting more consistent minutes under Coach Drew??

    Mark Nugent

I see Hinrich being traded somewhere and I think there is at least a 50/50 chance they move Josh Smith. I said in the offseason I thought a Pau Gasol for Smith and Hinrich trade made sense for both teams.

T-Mac, in my opinion cannot play more than 20 minutes a night. He doesn’t have the health to be a starter any more. He can throw back the clock every once in a while, but not every night.

Here is a good explanation on the value of a 1st round pick.

    AJ

Can the Blazers get a first round pick for Camby, and/or Crawford?

    Mark Nugent

Camby, maybe. Crawford, I doubt it. The bigger issue is will the Blazers have to take back salary to get rid of either player?First round picks are going to become like gold under this new CBA and I think GMs are realizing that.

I think Kevin Pritchard is the one who said this

free agency you pay market value the draft you get wholesale bargains.

I think he and Darell Morey's style of getting a lot of picks and being aggressive in getting picks and future picks is the best way to build a team in a small market.

I hope we look to add picks right now not lose them.

    http://hangtime.blogs.nba.com/2012/0...uest-revealed/

HANG TIME HEADQUARTERS – Long before Dwight Howard‘s training camp trade request went public, his preschool classmate and former AAU teammate Josh Smith beat him to the punch, going to Hawks’ management with his trade request before last February’s trade deadline.

With the new deadline a week away, Smith’s longstanding request, has finally gone public, courtesy of the Atlanta Journal Constitution. The timing couldn’t be worse for the Hawks, who are playing without All-Stars Joe Johnson (knee) and Al Horford (surgery for a torn pectoral muscle) and being carried on a nightly basis by Smith and a cast of veteran role players.

Smith’s played his entire career in his hometown for the Hawks, his career and the franchise’s on-court fortunes rising simultaneously. Smith’s agents have reiterated that request to Hawks GM Rick Sund since the lockout ended. The conversations have intensified recently, with executives around the league weighing all of their options as the deadline approaches.

Smith made it clear on the first day that players were allowed back at team facilities after the lockout ended that he was bent on competing for a championship at this stage of his career and that if the Hawks didn’t feel like their core group had the ability to do that, it was probably time to break up the core and start making moves.

While Johnson and Horford have battled injuries all season, Horford played just 11 games before going down for the season with that torn pectoral muscle, Smith has been the Hawks’ most consistent force. He’s averaging 17.1 points, 9.8 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.0 blocks.

News of his trade request is sure to cause a shakeup for the Hawks, 23-16 but 5-5 in their last 10 games. They are trying to hold on to their playoff position while battling major injury issues. Surely, they don’t need any added distractions.

But if there is a move to be made, it has to be made by next Thursday’s deadline.

    Surprising to see Mayo #3.

God, that still pisses me off bad. Pick up the ******* phone on time.

Bird and Morway should pretend the deadline is the 14th, not the 15th.

    Could you imagine:

    Hill
    Mayo
    Dahntay
    Tyler/Lou
    Jeff/Lou

Then the Pacers would be in prime position to pick up a SF (Beasley?) or Kaman, and possible have the best bench in the league.

Interestingly, recent rumors say the team might also be shopping point guard Luke Ridnour and (gasp) rookie forward Derrick Williams.

I'm not saying the wolves are shopping them together. But I'd take Luke for a chance to get Williams. *drool* And we know the Wolves have wanted Granger in the past.

Yeah I don't think they are letting Dwill go even if it is for Danny.

How about something like this. Probably needs some tweaking, but it could work.

    http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMa...radeId=7ao4j8a

    Pacers get:
    Josh Smith
    Derrick Williams

Hibbert gets a true athletic PF that can really help him out. Williams offers a versatile player who could be our SF of the future.

    Hawks get:
    David West
    Michael Beasley
    Darko Milicic

Milicic offers decent depth at C while Horford is out. They get good talent in West Beasley.

    Wolves get:
    Danny Granger
    Marvin Williams
    Hawks 1st

Not sure if Williams can play SG, cause the Wolves need a SG and don't get one. Could send DJ/first to the Wolves and they send back Randolph and Johnson.

Like I said, I'm sure it needs tweaking, but I'd love to get Smith and Williams.

Yeah I rather just trade Danny and pick straight up for Josh Smith, maybe West+Hill+picks for Josh Smith?

Based on what? Why not get Hill? Not saying it's likely, but you certainly can't say that the Mayo deal would have prevented the Hill deal, both would have included different pieces.

If the Grizz wanted Hans/1st rounder, does anyone go for it?

Actually, I think the deal was JMac and the 2011 first rounder, which is what we used to get Hill.

So no, we would not have had both unless the composition of the Hill deal changed completely and I don't see how that would have worked. Spurs wanted Kawhi Leonard.

They wouldn't want Tyler since Zach Randolph is looking to be back next week and Speights went from their doghouse to playing the best ball of his career since we set him off a few weeks back. It will be interesting to see how Speights plays off their bench in a reduced role since he's like Tyler as they both play a lot better with more time and shots.

I don't know about that. I figure Danny Granger is Derrick Williams' upside anyway - for the Wolves, why not swap the young guy for the finished product? Of course there's a chance that Williams could become a better player than Granger, but the Wolves are well-placed to be a playoff team in the West for the next few years and might prefer a veteran.

That's exactly what I thought. I figured the Wolves would want a solid veteran with some leadership in Granger for some young talent.

Yeah no way I trade West sorry. That's not exactly saying the greatest things about us when free agents aren't known to come to Indy the way it is. Plus West has been playing very well lately and was the absolute only reason why we were even in that hawks game

    That's crazy.

League sources continue to point to Houston and Golden State as having the willingness to give the Magic multiple assets for Howard, even if he won’t commit beyond this season. HoopsWorld

    • The Celtics are prepared to entertain offers for Paul Pierce, whose subtraction from the Boston core would be the most advantageous to the post-Big Three rebuilding effort given his age (34) and the $32 million he's owed over the next two seasons. And for those same reasons, he'll be the most difficult of Boston's top four players to move. The Clippers, indeed, have interest in Ray Allen, but little in the way of movable salary to make a deal work. Rival executives believe Celtics president Danny Ainge would have to be blown away by an offer to move point guard Rajon Rondo.

    Crawford+Felton for DC+pick? I'm down with that.

The Trail Blazers have been among the most active teams, seeking to move Jamal Crawford and acquire a big man -- either in the same or separate deals. The asking price for Crawford, however, includes a first-round pick in addition to Luke Ridnour (Timberwolves) or Eric Bledsoe (Clippers). Depending on what point guard the Blazers can bring back in a deal, they'd also be in a position to put Raymond Felton out of his misery. Felton's up-tempo style and Nate McMillan's deliberate offense clearly are not fitting together. "They've got to make major changes," one executive said.

Damn I really want Barbosa and Calderon.

Toronto is not shopping Leandro Barbosa, who has fired agent Sam Goldfeder and hired Dan Fegan. But teams certainly are calling about him and Jose Calderon. ... Reports that the Timberwolves are in talks with the Blazers regarding a Luke Ridnour-Jamal Crawford swap is bogus. While the eighth best team in the West definitely can use a starting scoring guard, Ridnour is going nowhere.

At the same time, do not believe word one of what you might have heard or read regarding Josh Smith possibly being dealt to the Celtics for Kevin Garnett or anyone, for that matter. Same goes for Joe Johnson, reputedly on the lips of the Warriors in trade talk.
