Eight Points, Nine Seconds Preview Review:
Jared Wade: Bulls Give Pacers the Bizness

Miserable. Derrick Rose warned the Pacers that this would happen
and, after shooting a woeful 1-for-9 in the first half, he delivered on
his promise. Both he and Luol Deng orchestrated a third-quarter
rout, during which the Bulls’ two perimeter All-Stars hit 5 combined
three-pointers to help their team out-score Indiana by 20.

When you are a team — even a good team — that is headed to play
the conference’s (and maybe the NBA’s) best squad on its home floor
for the second time in a month, no one really should expect you to
win. The Pacers have set the “road warrior” bar pretty high by
winning in Chicago, Los Angeles (against the Lakers), Dallas, Orlando
and Boston in the early part of this season. So it was certainly a win
that felt within reach even as the Pacers sat on a one-point lead at
halftime. But losing this game isn’t a problem.

Getting your *** handed to you while getting outscored 50-29 over
the final 24 minutes is, however. One loss, even if it’s a 92-72 loss
to a division rival, in the middle of a truncated schedule isn’t going
to make or break this team, but they have to be a little embarrassed
and somewhat, at least temporarily, demoralized.

Silver lining: they have plenty...CONTINUE READING AT 8p9s

ATLANTA—In recent accounts of Spud Webb's astounding
victory in the 1986 NBA Slam-Dunk Contest, basketball
fans across the nation have reportedly exaggerated the
diminutive point guard's size by greatly diminishing his
height with each retelling of the event. "I totally
remember he was like 3-foot-5-inches tall and he did
this amazing 180-degree reverse double-pump slam,"
Hawks fan Eric Davis said of the 5-foot-7 Webb, who
was 4-foot-9 and dunked from the foul line the last time
Davis told the story. "Spud really wasn't much bigger
than a basketball. He just blew everybody away in the
final round when he rode into the arena on a hamster,
ripped off his G.I. Joe doll uniform warm-up pants,
threw the ball at the backboard, ran between a small

The return of smash mouth basketball would be nice. Roy one basket and 10 shots the last 2 games, Tyler one FT attempt and Danny with just 5 over the last two games with TONS of jumpers by everyone even Big Roy.

We aren't much of a shooting team so we need to get back to pounding the paint and use it to open up some wide open outside looks. The Hawks are banged up and short on bigs right now so we need to take it too those guys and make then foul or give us some easy buckets.

This should be a fairly easy win. I could also see us come in aggressive and ready to take care of business due to last night's performance or we will just be down on ourselves and come out sloppy.

No.. what I'm saying is that this should be an easy win considering that Joe Johnson and Horford are out. Our guys are so unpredictable that I could see it going either way.

Home game vs the broken wings of the Hawks. If Joe & Horford are both out then we have a better starting 5, better depth, better everything. On paper, we should be able to win.
But I guess our players our should be fatigued & mentally crushed from last night. So that's a big factor also.
I hope we're going to win and pick ourselves up.

It won't be an easy game. I expect us to struggle in the beginning. We have to win this game, though. The Hawks are a good team but we should be able to win them given their injuries.

with JJ out, we should have this game
"So, which one of you guys is going to come in second?" - Larry Bird before the 3 point contest. He won.

PG beginning his takeover of the team. Been to the line twice with a couple good steals already.

Collison looking terrible to start the game. Kid is way too erratic. Of course, so is every other starter.
