However, that may explain why even when BLF had better attendance when first built the crowd just didn't seem to be as loud. Thus are the seats not as close?
I think the seats are as good or better than a lot of the arenas I've been to. Lower bowl is as close or closer as anyone. Club is equivalent to most arena's mid-level seats. The seats in the upper deck may be a little farther away because it isn't raked as steeply as a lot of arenas, but the sightlines are a LOT better. The fact that the boxes are split into two levels AND are set way back under the overhang of the next seating level makes a big difference.

The volume level is more due to the design of the building than closeness. The ceiling is differently shaped and higher than the ceiling at MSA was. The bowl design of MSA held noise in, while the open design of BLF makes it spread out. That's why the acoustics at MSA really stunk for concerts and things like that.

Well, you definitely get what you pay for.
Who said anything about cost? You said that you get a great view from anywhere in BLF, which isn't necessarily the case.

I don't recall every hearing a bad concert at MSA.

Well no **** sitting in the balcony isn't as great as sitting in the lower level.

I'm just saying, you get what you pay for.

Sitting in the corner not having as great a view is cheaper.

That's why sound guys who can deal with those types of venues make a pretty good living.

The difference between MSA and BLF is like the difference between a CD and a 78 rpm record.

MSA was regarded as having good acoustics for concerts.

Haven't had a chance to see a concert at BLF, but I always thought MSA rocked.

So we agree then that the view isn't great in the balcony corner?

Scot, no offense and I do appreciate your rah rah attitude for our team, but I really was asking a legit question. Saw my first Pacer game as a kid in the Collesium, had season tickets at MSA, and have always attended somewhere around a 7 to 10 game schedule in Reggies' House.

I've only attended away games in Orlando so I do not know how the seating is at other arenas. It just seems on television many of the arenas have seating closer to the court than BLF. Frankly I miss the temporary bleachers that use to be Legends and of course the main section 1 north entrance is one heck of a big hole that other arenas probably have seats in.

I understand the company boxes are a priority since many teams have went that route for the guaranteed good money. It makes since to me and if that is what is needed to keep our team in Indy then fantastic. However, that may explain why even when BLF had better attendance when first built the crowd just didn't seem to be as loud. Thus are the seats not as close?
I started to reply yesterday, but yeah, I agree. Its a good question, and FWIW I feel like Washington had seats closer, though I am not sure how that translates to total space (or even best usage of space)

I think he meant in peoples recreation time, not their necessities.
My point was some people do not have the money for any of the "recreation", which is why you see a lot of entertainment venues begging for people to come out.

Some people really are just staying at home and watching TV or even worse working a second job.

But the majority of people don't.

    Dont what?

Maybe I am wrong in just basing it off of the DC metro area, but I see a lot less people at the shows and games around here, not to mention the movie theatres. Perhaps people are choosing to spend their money elsewhere, but IMO I think a lot of people are just choosing not to spend it at all, if they have any to spend.

Enough with the derailment of this thread. Hope you all were able to get some good deals with no fee Tuesday.

Well, not to be forgotten, some people might have some disposable income but when the economic news is bad and fuel prices are unstable and high they keep their money in their wallet or bank for a rainy day... or for the next round of 4.00gal fuel.

Or they wait for their brother to buy the tickets.

Very little, if any, disposable income in my household. We always get decent tax returns, which is the only time we have disposable income. In reality though I can't really even consider that disposable because the majority of it gets put into home improvement.
