Default Pacers interested in Courtney Lee?

    http://www.hoopsworld.com/nba-chat-w...l-ingram-22012

    Cain

Would the Pacers be willing to part with Granger? George needs to be at SF to reach his potential. Would love a trade of Granger for Martin + Pick.

    Bill Ingram

In the past Granger has been absolutely untouchable, but if the Pacers could get a true SG I think they would at least think about it. They’re more interested in Courtney Lee, honestly, than Martin, who is a fairly one-dimensional player. When his shot’s off he’s a liability.
I guess we are trying to bring in anyone from Naptown ( G hill , Lee, Gordon etc.)

well, as long as they don't surrender a mid-first rounder for him, what can it hurt? The Pacers still need a volume shooter off the bench.

And next week the Pacers will be the leading contenders for Greg Oden.

Courtney Lee looked like he was going to have a solid career after his rookie season in Orlando. Since then he has been traded a few times and I haven't really heard much about him. I wouldn't mind sending Dahntay or Price and maybe a 2nd round pick for Lee. It doesn't hurt to get a young guy with some potential on your bench and he could solve our backup wing problems. It also helps he is from Indy of course...

Another two-way player... That would be a good move to make.

I'm not sure Courtney would want to come back to Indy... During that whole overblown dust-up with George and the Sportszone place, I thought Courtney's tweets about why he doesn't come back to Indy often was pretty telling.

Pretty much this.... he's a guy who couldn't wait to leave Indiana-no-place. Which is hilarious considering where he went to play college ball.

I'd be very disappointed if we got this guy as part of a trade.

I mean these guys do this for a living, and although not perfect , found them to be pretty accurate so I tend to believe the Pacers have expressed interest in Courtney Lee

I couldn't wait to leave when I was the same age, so I went to Vincennes for three years. Not all that different from Western Kentucky. Actually, come to think of it, Western Kentucky was probably more active.

So he is suggesting that we want to trade Danny for Lee? Hell no!!!

He is a known Rockets fan by the way of course he wants that deal to happen.

I could be a volume shooter off the bench.

Dahntay seems like he is a longer leash away from being a volume shooter.

Tyler is posing as a pretty good volume shooter.

I think I know what you mean. There's got to be better terminology.

Yeah I'd absorb Lee's contract or take him for a player + 2nd round pick... He won't be with Houston next season and we could use him as a glue piece to give our depth more credibility.

    I'd rather have Terrence Williams

Well, we don't have OJ Mayo. Yet he's the guy who claimed it was a done deal, when it obviously wasn't. Then took the article down a little while later.

I sure wouldn't. Lee has good playoff experience, and is not only proven but the talent is already there. He just fell off the map in Houston, and has been playing behind Kevin Martin. He hasn't become the scorer that a lot of people thought he'd become, but he plays offense and defense and would provide some very solid bench production.

Terrence on the other hand has not produced every opportunity he's had.

You have to remember though a lot of these reporters (hard to say that with a straight face) get their information from player agents. So if say player A's agent wants his client to seem more coveted then he will list teams that he has been in contact with. That makes it appear that the team is interested when in fact they are just listening. They may have an interest or they may not.

Also the agent may have talked to a scout or other low level person and when it is reported as team is interested in a player it looks like the G.M. is making the calls.

I'm not saying he is doing that here, but you have to be very cautious following these.

Reporters who have less scrupals will sometimes think that teams should make a move and therefor report it as "team A is interested in player B" when in truth the move makes sense but nobody is doing anything one way or the other.

Again not saying he is doing that, but it does happen.
