Default The Night the Lights Went Out...

Wow, remember this Thursday night? To my knowledge there is still no explanation to the how the lights went out.

Here is a photo I took from right after it happened.

It's interesting that when that happened, the shot clock and advertising lights didn't go out. It seems it was just the main overhead lights. That would seem to indicate that perhaps someone bumped the switch? (Even though Quinn seemed to think that the television feed had been cut)

Does there need to be an explanation?
Do you suspect foul play? Rats chewing through the electrical wires?
Somebody must have tripped over the control unit power cord or bumped a switch.

It was a ploy by AJ to show Vogel he can shoot the lights out...

I just added something to my bucket list:

I've watched a lot of basketball for over 40 years, and I think that's the first time I've seen that happen.

I was there for the Nuggets game in the balcony and saw a dark figure up near the ceiling walking then it disappeared out of nowhere. It scared the **** out of me.

Sounds like the ghost of Jamison Brewer is haunting us...

The lights when out at MSA during a Pacer game years ago.

MSA had the older style lights that take a long time to get back to full brightness. The teams had to shoot around for about 10-15 minutes before the lights were bright enough to play.

The other night when they got them back on I thought they were much brighter than I'd ever seen them the rest of the night. It was kind of annoying.

Wow I forgot about lights like that. This used to happen in my junior high school gym when someone would lean on the lightswitch. We'd have to stop practice and wait for the lights to slowly flicker, then have a constant dim light...etc. 10-15 minutes is a damn long time when you're 14 too.

When the lights came back on about midway, it kind of reminded me of the old days at MSA where the lights were on the court and the crowd was dark. I sure miss that...

I was just about to mention how cool it looks having the lights on the court and the crowd in the dark - kinda glad someone beat me to it. I've always liked this look. I imagine making the switch would be pretty expensive/labor intensive, but man that would be awesome.

Since they came right back on, probably just a case of someone accidentally triggering the mechanism that dims the lights for player introductions, which effectively just slides a shutter over the lights instead of actually turning them off. Had they been fully turned off, I'd imagine they wouldn't have come back on so quickly.
