Dish Network does not put the FSI feed on the same channel everytime, which to me is incredibly stupid and annoying.

...and senseless since it's just a mapping issue and not some hardcoded thing like a broadcast channel back in the old days.... or an analog radio station broadcasting on 94.7 for example.

Dish Network sucks when it comes to Pacer games. A bunch of games aren't in HD, the channel number is different because it isn't "always on", and they don't even carry every game.

So stupid. Although I have to pay for the sports package through DirecTV, it's worth it to me for the HD/always on features. So glad I switched.

FSI isn't always on for DirecTv either.... but they do keep it on one channel!

Dish typically has FSI on the 447-449 range. If you set your DVR (extremely simple with Dish) to record "Pacers" it will find it every time. I've seen every game this year in HD except for one last week. I wonder if it matters what area you are in. I'm in Fort Wayne so we are considered local for Chicago and Indy.

    Hey, I'm Fort Wayne too

I know this season they have carried all of the games, most in HD. I'm talking about the past several. But, maybe this is a sign of things to come for Dish subscribers, and for their sake I hope so.

Personally, I can't stand having to deal with that crap. I go to 673-1 every night there's a game on And honestly, there wasn't much keeping me with Dish anyway. Awful company, in my experience.

Dish just sucks in general. I used to have it, and I had a package that didn't include fox sports. I believe you have to get the sports package or something like that. The basic lineup doesn't include FSN, so maybe he has that. It's one of those dumb things where they say 'america's top 120' or something, but like half the channels are home shopping channels and other random bs.

Every time that Fox Sports Indiana is broadcasting something, it's on 673-1. If you're willing to pay for digital cable, or any satellite package, there is no reason for anyone not to have DirecTV.

And if you decide to switch, let me know.

$100 bucks for me, $100 bucks for anyone who switches.

    Win-win.

But I'm already a Directv subscriber. In fact, I just upgraded my programming package yesterday!

It's funny how important the customer service people are - I had DirectTV for many years and then I had some problems they wouldn't help with and I moved to Dish and have never regretted it. Every time I've had an issue they were able to help, a couple of times they upgraded my equipment.

I'm glad we're both getting to see the Pacers every night!

One more question related to DISH and Pacer games. All of the issues here seem to relate to Fox Sports IN/MW. For folks with DISH away from Indiana who have NBA LP, are there any problems?

Isn't it crazy how different experiences can be?

For example, with Dish, they kept messing my bill up, adding programming, sending techs who didn't know what they're doing etc...and I would call and get attitude. Unbelievable.

Then with Direct, it's been the opposite. No problems, whenever I call they kiss my *** () and it's been great.

Either way, glad to hear of a Pacers fan up north () I have a buddy that watches the games with me (If you're over 30, is it ok to say "buddy"? Haha) and we are hoping to get to a sports bar in FW for the Pacers/Sixers game on ESPN. It'd be nice to get a bunch of Pacer fans around!

I moved back to cable and haven't regretted it at all. Now the DVR doesn't miss recording something because the signal was too bad and the program died.

I live in northern Alabama and I have no problem with Dish.

The only problems I have is being too close to Atlanta and Memphis which causes blackouts. I also have cable (no NBALP) and get FXSS which carries both teams.

I cannot understand why both Atlanta and Memphis are blacked out when they play in Indy???

I would rather be the hammer than the nail
