Default Roy Hibbert vs Marc Gasol

Because Roy and Marc are likely to see each other in the All Star game this year (and because a good portion of this board was interested in acquiring Marc last season), I thought it would be interesting to check out the numbers they are putting up.

So, which stat line belongs to who?

Anyone who knows their players, specifically Roy can easily see the first stat is Roy, and the 2nd is Marc ..

Plumlee reminds me of a young Dale Davis. Good rebounding and he contests shots well on defense and his offensive game is very raw just like DD's was coming out of college.

Roy is also usually the 2nd , sometimes 3rd scoring option , depending on the matchup and whether he is on a roll ..

Gasol on the other hand,I believe, is depended on alot more to score .. So he IS gonna have slightly higher averages..
Plus he is on the floor almost 10 minutes more than Roy

This one is too easy because Gasol plays almost 40 min a game so his shots are lower on the per 36 scale, he's also a better passer so the assist to TO ratio stands out and he's also a more polished shooter so the FT and 3 point percentages stand out.

Both are great centers and I'm very excited the Pacers have one of them. As mentioned above though, Roy does play less MPG and is a year younger, so I prefer him in the long term.

Roy is 2nd on our team by .9 attempts a game, and not counting Z-Bo's brief time Gasol is .3 behind Conley in attempts for 3rd on their team with Gay #1 by a mile. He is also just .2 ahead of Mayo with their PT difference being 38:11 to 25:55.

Like apples and oranges, both a pretty darn good. I am glad we have one of those guys. I like Roy over Gasol because of his personality and willingness to do what is good for the team and he is one tough guy.

But yet Roy has a higher usage rate by almost five percentage points.

I think we run more sets for Roy than they do for Gasol. Credit Vogel.

So in other words... be prepared to pay Roy, Marc Gasol type money.

    Great.
I don't want to sound condescending, which means to talk down to you by the way

I wouldn't have it any other way. He will deserve every single penny.
