The road record along with the great road wins against the beasts of the league is huge. Not losing two in a row is huge. The fact that the only two home losses are to one team is significant. All great indicators for a nice playoff run..
Or an indication that we don't want to have a matchup against the Orlando Magic .

The Magic have caught us at two very good times the times they have beat us at home. They require a lot of energy to defend (from the paint all the way to the 3 point line) and any time you come home from a winning western conference road trip, you are going to run on fumes.

True. I think if we had Foster for those games, at the very least it would have meant that Howard might have had a few more trips to the line vs. some easy buckets, and given his poor rate of success from the charity stripe, both games might have had different outcomes.

I think people get confused by power rankings. Indiana may not be the third best team in the league overall, but the way they are playing, they are.

Power rankings are indicative of how a team performs now, not how well they will perform in the future.
This is true I guess. While I don't exactly think we're the 3rd best team in the league, I do think we're up there. I certainly don't think we aren't good, just not top 3 good yet.

    We deserve this slot.

The Sixers have had a much easier schedule, and have played most of it at home to boot, and yet our records are virtually identical.

We've beat numerous top teams on the road, and went 7-3 over our last 10 despite playing the 3rd most difficult schedule in the NBA.

We clearly had dead legs vs. orl, yet we still had a chance to take it.

We may or may not actually be 3rd best in the NBA yet, but we ARE playing like we are, and it isn't a stretch to see the pacers as a top 5 NBA squad. We're better than Denver imo, and our style is more suited to winning in the Postseason, and Denver imo is the second best team in the West, same thing with the Clippers who play sorry defense.

I think we're the 3rd best team in the East after Miami and Chicago and would be a top 2 or 3 team in the West as well. We're 4-1 (all on the road) against the supposedly "superior" Western Conference, we're balling right now.

I cannot believe we are talking anything near the top of the league. 12 months ago, we were hoping we'd crack .500....
