    Default More Altercations This Season?

is it just me, or has there been more altercations this season so far between other teams and our pacers? lots of teams are starting to hate us (which can be a good thing). kevin love and derrick rose spoke out against us, while we've had altercations in the magic game last night as well as the wolves game. do you think we're getting too confident? or is this swagger a good thing? personally, i love seeing this. it means we have confidence, and we're no longer happy with backing down and having teams steam-roll us. what does PD nation think?

It doesn't bother me at all. I don't think anyone on this team is stupid enough to pull an Artest if the situation ever came to that, and after being a soft team for quite a few years it is important to make clear to other teams that the Pacers are back. The Pacers players haven't really started any of the confrontations, they were all a result of the players of other teams thinking they could push us around like in years past. Well, they will soon learn that is not the case.

Swagger is good as long as you back it up. And for the most part, we are.

I said it after the first or second game. NBA players don't like contact these days, so I expected us to get into several fights this season.

I def think teams are not taking too kindly to Pacers style of play. They arent used to (normally) having guys, for the lack of a better term, "fight" for the ball on every possesion. I know Tyler, Lou, DJ and probably more than dont get noticed as much, go 100% every single time down the floor. Call it smashmouth or whatever you want but its a new look for the Pacers and the league apparently doesnt like it.

As long as the Pacers dont lose their cool, im perfectly ok with it. Just like last night, those Magic technicals def helped the Pacers get back in the game. If you can cause people to lose their cool just because you want it more than them, thats the kind of team I love to see.

I'm at the point where I'm a little concerned someone is going to make a big mistake and miss a few games at a critical point. I do think most of it is just posturing, guys rarely have any intention to fight. I think part of the issue with Granger is that he feels obligated as team leader to insert himself in every single altercation to show he supports his teammates.

As long as our players are not getting thrown out of the game, I love it!

We have something better than swagger. We have smash mouth, a more manly version of swagger.

    ^^^^^^^

In the NBA, the whole team would be suspended and games forfeited.

EDIT: Then they walked down the same corridor after the fact?????

Yep, they did. The funny thing is that a lot of these players know each other very well. A lot of guys from the Serbian national team play in the Greek league and the two usually share a very friendly relationship. Well, not in that game.

PS: The other funny thing is that this fight actually happened in a friendly game

As long as we're never the instigators, I'm fine with it. If we can bring out the worst in our opponents without being dirty, without getting caught up in it ourselves, and without letting it overshadow actually playing basketball, that will be hugely helpful (especially against big teams).
"And Tottenham do not know what hit them...well I can tell you, it's Theo Walcott!"

"And it's Tony Adams put through by Steve Bould, WOULD YOU BELIEVE IT?! That...sums it all up."
