The thing is damn near every year you can get a first rd talent in the 2nd rd from a European player you just have to be patient. Also you have to hope they want to come over and also develop like you think they can.
Agreed. Pekovic was a dominant player in the Euroleague and seeing him putting out numbers in the NBA comes quite naturally to me.

Pekovic was almost a complete player when he came to the NBA. He was not a talent. He was 24.

That said, you can pick that kind of players quite often.

Heh, our team is in Love's mind:

    http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/recap?gameId=320201016

Love had 21 points and 17 rebounds for the Timberwolves, who were completely overwhelmed by Indiana's size and flustered by the Pacers' tenacity.

"They take those pills and they've got all that toughness," Love said with his tongue planted in his cheek. "I don't know where that comes from. They all think they're tough guys. I just don't know where that comes from. That just blows my mind. They're all tough. And it makes me laugh."

Love wasn't laughing for much of the game. He made 6 of 16 shots and was 0 for 3 on 3-pointers and also tangled with Tyler Hansbrough under the basket several times.

"I knew that none of them were going to do anything," Love said. "Just play ball. It's part of the game. Hard foul. Everybody's getting fouled out there. They're silly."

To clarify, Denari said Hill was out with a sprain ankle, but they would know more tomorrow. So don't get your hopes up too high yet.

Seems that the Pacers really got under Love's skin.

    edit... sorry, Doc already posted.

I cant really add anything that hasn't already been said. You have to love the confidence and swagger has this team playing with. I think the fact that we play with such a togetherness and our entire bench celebrates after good plays, is what's making our opponents so annoyed. That and the fact that we play physical the ENTIRE game lol.

Also, I wonder how much the lockout affected DG. He just seems to be in such a rhythm now, coming off screens, getting to the basket, etc. He's looking like the 20+ per game scorer he's been the past few yrs. If he can continue his scoring prowress, he raises our chances of being a really good team in the east, esp with the way we play defense.

    Wells seems to corroborate here:

    https://twitter.com/#!/MikeWellsNBA/...76269035593728

The Pacers will have a better idea on George Hill's return when they return to Indy this weekend. He's hoping to only be out 2-3 weeks.

This was a surprising win, I really expected us to lose this one and I really would have not been that disappointed.

You can't win them all, being a back to back, Minny a much improved team and can rebound, Roy's had trouble with Pekovic before, I thought Rubio would give us trouble, no George Hill.

I thought the deck was stacked against us tonight, boy was I gladly wrong! This team is special. I'm loving this team more and more every game.

I like the style of tough we are... We aren't like Chicago, celebrating after every dunk and getting hyped over a block. Instead, we are content and just keep pushing along, but if someone disrespects us, we don't hesitate to show them what's up. We aren't friends with the opponent, and we just out execute them and out hustle them and make them ***** about it at the end...

In response to @kevinlove's "pacer toughness" comments... We don't act tough, we just play hard. If we have to be tough then we will be...

    Fixed.
Welcome to Pacers Digest! New around here? Here are three tips for making the forum a great place to talk about Pacers basketball.

    • Log in. Even if you want to read instead of post, it's helpful because it lets you:
    • Change your signature options. You can hide all signatures by choosing "Settings" (top right) then "General Settings" (middle left) and unchecking the box "Show Signatures" (in the "Thread Display Options" area).
    • Create an ignore list. I know it may seem unneighborly. But you're here to talk about the Pacers, not argue with someone who's just looking for an argument. Most of the regular users on here make use (at least occasionally) of the "Ignore" feature. Just go to "Settings" -> "Edit Ignore List" and add the names.

    Enjoy your time at PD!

I don't particularly care about statements that players make after losses. It just seems that no matter what they say, it is going to sound wrong.

That said, when I saw Love grabbing a rebound that was going to Milicic I really shook my head. He almost elbowed his teammate on the head to get the board. And no Pacer was around either. He almost injured his teammate in order to get a rebound.

Of course it was and he clearly went for Danny's heated reaction and to get him mad. What annoyed me the most though is the constant arm hooking into his opponent's when he goes for a rebound in order to cheat the refs and get a foul.
I think he may have picked up that move from Foster.
