Default Pacers - Suns - Contenders?

We Trade: Darren Collison, 2012 First round pick ; recieve Robin Lopez and Steve Nash.

    Our new rotation:

    Nash/Hill/Price
    George/Lance/Hill
    Granger/Jones/George
    West/Hansbrough/Lou
    Hibbert/Lopez/Foster

With this trade we improve our starting 5 and improve our depth. I think this team can finish 3rd in the east and have a real chance against Miami and Chicago during the playoffs (unless we have injuries)

What do you think? who says no?

I don't see why Phoenix would do this deal...

Well, with Lopez it could be too much, but Collison+pick should be more than enough

I'd say no simply because when Nash retires at the end of the season (or next), who is our starting PG? Nothing against G3, but he's not a starting point. We just went through how many years of PG woes, is it worth mortaging our future for two years of Nash IF we're lucky?

    I'm on board.

Suns get a young talent and a pick. Pacers get an aging vet, who's still very good. Lopez is a backup C that barely plays for the Suns. He'd definitely get more playing time here.

Looking at unrestricted point guards next season.
Ramon Sessions (i've always been high on this guy)
    Andre Miller
    Raymond Felton
    Mo Williams

    Some pipe dream option:
Chris Paul (he'll probably get extended though)
Deron Williams (pipe dream, but I'll still include him, .

Well, I just don't think Collison is our point guard of the future. He's not a bad player, he's just average. We can upgrade the point guard spot for the next 2 years, have a real shot of getting deep into the playoffs, then worry about a starting point guard (who might as well just be Hill, if we extend him)

I agree too, he doesn't look like our pg of the future. But, Collison's trade value should be pretty high. He's played well this year.

No thanks. Nash is not a good return for a young point guard such as DC.

The only point guard on the first list I would want is Mo Williams

Nash AVGs this season 14 ppg/10 apg on REALLY high FG% (53% / 39% from 3) while playing around old guys and Josh Mcroberts. If we do this trade he's going to become our best player on our starting 5. How is this bad value?

Because DC runs the offense just fine and we don't need to disturb this team chemistry we have. Plus, DC isn't going to retire within the next 3 years.

The Suns aren't going to give Lopez an extension by the end of today. I'd like to see the Pacers offer

Lou & #1 for Lopez. Salaries match and Lou played his best ball with the Suns.

    OR

Stephenson, 2nd/Stanko, and cap for Lopez.

I'd rather pay for Lopez though.

We lose a first in a deep draft and our starting PG for a guy who becomes a free agent in a few months. No
