Default The Pacers shouldn't trade anyone away during the season

We have a real chance to make some noise in the east this year from what I've seen of the team. Unless you can make a nothing for Maynor type deal with your cap space I say, Larry and David, stand pat and let this team grow together

Cant disagree with that, but isn't Maynor out for the year with an ACL tear? If we could get reggie Jackson, I may be interested....

Unless you think this team, as currently constructed, has a legitimate shot of maturing into a championship contender, I don't see how you can say to not consider making any moves.

Honestly, I legitimately do think that. Wow, that was fun to type.

Edit: And I'm not saying I wouldn't make a trade. Of course, if it makes the team better you do it. I'm saying that this team can mature into a championship contender. I honestly believe that.

I can't say I share the same belief, but I hope you're right.

I think this team is as talented as any roster in the NBA and may be a Miami Killer with the inside talent and talent at PG.

I would be really hesitant about making major moves right now. If it ain't broke, don't $%&# with it.

There was a brief, and very decisive, and altogether unprecedented, outburst of genuine officiating, and it was directed at the best player in the world, and that, my dear young person, simply is not done."

The only one I would consider is if Danny continues to play great and we get the opportunity to move for two Pieces like Rondo and Pierce, you got to take it.

As long as it makes us better and the guys coming in fit with our chemistry/culture, I'm fine with it. At this point I'm rooting for one more addition using cap space via trade, though, versus a more traditional swap.

I'd love to get an upgrade at PG, like Rondo or someone like that, but otherwise I think this is a fantastic roster that's ready to win a lot of games right now.

I agree that we should not trade anyone. Every player on the team has contributed to our wins (yeah, even Amundson). If we can get someone by cap space or picks then do this but as it is right now, no one should be touched.

PS: I'd love to have a 7 footer that can score but I'd only trade picks and (maybe) Amundson to get him.

PS II: And that's despite liking Amundson and his play style.

We need another big man. Lou doesn't seem to be good enough to fill that role. At this point I'd rather have Soloman Jones than Lou.

A guy like Kurt Thomas would have been perfect. I'm trying to think of anyone we could get. JO comes to mind, but he is injured so often, if he could play he would be perfect as well.

You must ALWAYS be looking to improve your roster, and we do lack in many areas. Being complacent will allow us to consistently make the playoffs but it will not win us any championships.

I think what we could use is a buried big guy like Timofy Mosgov. Athletic big, lots of ability to defend the rim.

If the Pacers get a GREAT offer for Granger at the deadline, they should take it. His trade value has gone down and he isn't going to get any better. The Celts are not going to trade Rondo and Pierce for Granger. They would not trade either one of them straight up for Granger. They can do better than that. I think Pierce stays there.

No, no, no...like a Granger+ DC for Rondo and Pierce, I think at their points in their careers, that's a pretty interesting trade considering Pierces contract and current weight issues.

    THANK YOU!

If it makes you better you make the trade.
But how many trades are out there that WILL actually make us better?

We need depth behind Roy. That's all there is to it. Outside of the core guys, including Hill and Hansbrough, I'd say it's fair game.

Mozgov is not buried, however. Denver seems to believe in him and he is having great games as their starting Center. If we are to get a C from Denver (which would make sense since they have 4 Cs), it would be Koufos. He would be a good scorer in our second unit. The only problem with him is that he is not smashmouth yet but I'm sure that he can buy into the philosophy.

isn't Nene the starting Center in Denver? Isn't Andersen the Back-up? Once they are healthy isn't that what the rotation will look like....

A Miami Killer? Did you NOT watch the Miami Heat game when they blew us out...without D.Wade?!

We are a good team, a very good team at that. But if we have a chance at getting a Superstar, or someone damn close, w/o trading our main core guys (George, Hill, Hibbert, Hans) Then you've got to look at it.

Unless you see someone from this team becoming a superstar, it will be damn hard to be a championship contender with out making one more move.

In Saturday's game Mozgov started at Center and Nene started as a Power Forward. According to ESPN, Mozgov has started all 16 games that he played in. He is only averaging 17.8 minutes due to heavy rotations and Nene spending time at 5 but he is starting for them.

So, I cannot count him as buried anymore.
