This is the problem with teams that have high wins but low point differential. The reason that it does not correlate with success is that high wins and low point differential is usually indicative of lucky breaks that them is unlikely to get on a permanent basis. For every game we should have won, I think there's at least a couple that we could have and probably should have lost.
Indeed. Let's not forget this is a yong team and we have only just started the trend of winning more games then losing games. We might be a bit more appreciative and less impatient about nitpicking on a team that is also learning and growing on the fly with a headcoach who hasn't had a single complete trainingcamp to implement his system.
My opinion? We are doing more then fine and better then I expected us to do so far, I expect us to drop our pace a bit during the season and end up with the 5th seed. I think that's pretty awesome looking back at the dark ages that we were having the past years. Am I contend with that? No, I too want our franchise to content and win a championship, but patience is a virtue to getting there sometimes and in my opinion this is one of those times.
Let's just enjoy the ride for now.

I'm pleased as punch with our 10-4 record. Outside of this board, I can't imagine anybody predicting better.
Welcome to Pacers Digest! New around here? Here are three tips for making the forum a great place to talk about Pacers basketball.
Log in. Even if you want to read instead of post, it's helpful because it lets you:
Change your signature options. You can hide all signatures by choosing "Settings" (top right) then "General Settings" (middle left) and unchecking the box "Show Signatures" (in the "Thread Display Options" area).
Create an ignore list. I know it may seem unneighborly. But you're here to talk about the Pacers, not argue with someone who's just looking for an argument. Most of the regular users on here make use (at least occasionally) of the "Ignore" feature. Just go to "Settings" -> "Edit Ignore List" and add the names.
NO TEAM wins every game they are favored to win (or in your words are supposed to win) these are professionals. The thunder just lost to the wizards, MIN just beat LAC, the Kings just beat the spurs in SA, and the Warriors have beaten the bulls and the heat, on their home floor. Just last year we finished 8 games under .500, and people want to complain b/c we're 10-4?!?! No we shouldn't be satisfied, but teams dont go from knocking on the door to the lottery, to being a championship contender in one season (unless you add 2 HOF's ALA Boston)
Would I have liked for us to be 11-3 or 12-2?! HELL YEAH! But as someone just stated before, i dont think anyone outside of PD realistically thought we could be 10-4 at this juncture. Enjoy the fact that we're competitive again, don't nitpick.
Good teams find a way to win. How do we respond from a game we shouldn't have lost, that we gave up (Wednesday in Sacramento)? I think our guys showed great toughness, mental toughness, tonight and we're looking forward. We've got to forget about the win tonight and focus on the game Tuesday." -- Hill
After winning against the warriors they are still pissed that they gave up against kings.
I liked it that the team is motivated to win because of the lost that we should have won.
