There will be a rise in sweatervests being sold in the greater Indianapolis area.

I sure hope to hell that they are not going to give him the HC job when there are good coaches out there. He needs to stay in his position right now and we need someone who has an outside perspective and bring some energy to the Colts. We are in a transition now and I just don't see Tressel as the guy who will get the job done.

We should have fired Caldwell in November and let Tressel coach the remaining 5 or 6 games. What could that have hurt? You'd at least know if he had some potential as an NFL coach. That would have been a good way to interview him.....

If Tressel gets the job then I'm going to have serious questions about that hire. I'm just not big on college coaches moving to the pros. It might work but if it blows up in their faces there will be a long line to tell you "I told you so!". You also have to look at it in relationship to the gamble Caldwell just was and that he didn't exactly have the league or fans comparing him to coaching greats. You make a questionable coaching hire and you'll immediately see his coaching questioned....

...And it would also make me think Caldwell's firing was never in doubt and this was a plan put into place several months ago.
Nuntius was right. I was wrong. Frank Vogel has retained his job.

It might've hurt the #1 draft position we currently have...

I don't get the huge deal. What he got in trouble for in college wouldn't matter here, but I don't follow college football much so I don't know what schemes or styles he would incorporate either.

Eh, his offense wasn't very good in college so I'm worried about having him as a Head coach.. his defense was good but really boring and not that great on offense

May be looking at our next head coach. Irsay was impressed with Grigson after the first interview and quickly granted a second. I have no problem with it. He did a fine job at Ohio State.

Pretty much this. Couldn't care less about the looking the other way for free tattoos stuff (check out some Iowa rumors, even though everybody loves Kirk Ferentz). He runs an offense that hasn't working in the NFL for over a decade and if you think Caldwell was too conservative wait til you see Tressel. He'd be an absolute failure in the NFL, I have no doubt.

If he's really getting a 2nd interview the franchise is in a lot more disarray than I thought.

All good though, we fired Polian! And Caldwell, after him being part of interviewing DC candidates the day before! And Grigson has been on the job for a week and a half and can't even get on the phone with Peyton to introduce himself!

Tressel as coach would be awful.

It would be hard to poke fun at Bellicheat if we end up with a coach with similar moral fiber. Not only that but Tressel isn't even a good coach.

The Polians and Caldwell still had to go regardless of what happens from here on out.

You lose one player and can't win 2 games as important as Peyton is you cannot have that type of dropoff.

Unless bad drafts and someone who had no business being hired as a coach(Caldwell) causes it.

This is the Polian effect though he leaves the team bare and in disarray after he leaves.

This wasn't going to last forever but I can deal with it if the end result is that the Colts have a team focus rather than a one man show...

You need a team to win championships.

I'm keeping an open mind on Grigson for now since he's only been here for two weeks you can't build teams overnight...

He could have won more games.. I am partially kidding but Tressel is a good coach and if I had to choose between Tressel or Caldwell then its an easy choice IMO.

No doubt Tressel has had some conservative offenses but he has also had some questionable Qb's in the past as well. You know guys who couldn't make every throw and he basically dumbed a lot of things down to limit mistakes.

The guy does have leadership qualities and he is proven on some scale so it wouldn't be that bad of higher IMO.

He defiantly improves the run game if he's the HC. A bunch of 2 tight end sets and max protection similar to what the Colts ran when Manning was a rookie.

I should point this out though.. I doubt he is the play caller and if Manning is here then I seen the offense will be just fine with Tressel working more on the defensive side.

According to WRTV6 we'll know who our coach is by the end of the week.

    I'm guessing its Tressel personally.

Like I said as soon as he was hired here he was going to be the coach of this team eventually.

Our track record with tOSU castoffs isn't good though

Pitcock, Schlicter, Roy Hall, Gonzalez... have a hard time thinking Tressel will change that.

But after last season I can't imagine this team being worse.

If they get Tressel that would pretty much tells me that Peyton is gone.

Why? The Colts have kept the OC so there won't be much change there which would have impacted him more than anything else.

Yeah I don't see how hiring Tressel would have a negative negative impact on Manning. If Manning comes back then he is going to have control of the offense like he always has, regardless of who the coach is. No coach is going to come in here and make Manning change stuff.

I still prefer Zimmer. A defensive minded coach.
