I think Hans is getting abused for this reason. I have seen an elevated numbers of fingers, hands, arms, elbows to Hans. This doesn't happen much to West or Hibbert. I just think Hans is getting the blunt of it all in return.

If someone had told me three years ago that the Pacers would be playing winning smashmouth basketball right now I would have called them crazy.

To be fair, a year ago Frank Vogel was taking over the reigns, and I was more likely to believe it then than 6 months prior. So a year and a half ago I would have punched your teeth in if you told me we'd be playing winning smashmouth basketball right now.

You are here to win and play hard not make friends.. Have you seen Wade play? dude does not GAF. He will break your arm if he has to win. Dude is heartless and plays the game hard. The way it's meant to play, He is probably my fav non pacer player. It's a treat to watch him play defense as well. Dude is heartless. Tyler seems to have that trait as well. Go 120 MPH and bang heads.
The thing is no one has suggested the Pacers change their on-court play at all. Some of us just want to see the rhetoric toned down a little. For example you have given us Wade. Yep tough as nails, but I can't remember Wade constantly talking about being smash mouth.

I love Frank Vogel and what he has changed our team to. Opposing teams know the Pacers are tough. Now it's time to take the next step by still showing it in their actions as opposed to words is all.

You know how hippos are made out to be sweet and silly, like big cows, but are actually extremely dangerous and can kill you with stunning brutality? The Pacers are the NBA's hippos....Matt Moore CBS Sports....

    Danny Granger - 82games.com

According to 82games.com, Danny Granger is holding opposing small forwards to PER's of 6.2 and an abysmal .298 eFG%.

If those numbers are legitimate, there may not be a better defender in the entire league right now than Granger. At any position.
    Holy cow. That's insane.
Welcome to Pacers Digest! New around here? Here are three tips for making the forum a great place to talk about Pacers basketball.

    • Log in. Even if you want to read instead of post, it's helpful because it lets you:
    • Change your signature options. You can hide all signatures by choosing "Settings" (top right) then "General Settings" (middle left) and unchecking the box "Show Signatures" (in the "Thread Display Options" area).
    • Create an ignore list. I know it may seem unneighborly. But you're here to talk about the Pacers, not argue with someone who's just looking for an argument. Most of the regular users on here make use (at least occasionally) of the "Ignore" feature. Just go to "Settings" -> "Edit Ignore List" and add the names.

    Enjoy your time at PD!

Exactly, this is why all the trade Danny or the Danny sucks posts drive me crazy. How can people say he is having a bad year?? He could be the DPOY with those numbers.

If Danny maintains anywhere near those numbers he should be in consideration for DPOY. If he can get his efficiency up to even average then i'd consider such a year to be his finest. Check his on/off numbers on 82games too. We simply are better with Danny on the floor, both offensively and defensively, so far this year his impact has been gigantic.

That is an awesome stat! I hope Danny can continue that intensity. I noticed another great stat from that link:

Stat \ ON Court \ OFF Court \ Net
    Offense: Pts per 100 Poss. \ 106.2 \ 94.6 \ +11.6
    Defense: Pts per 100 Poss. \ 92.8 \ 107.3 \ -14.6

The Pacers D when Danny is on the floor is awesome. When he's not on the floor they are an average to poor offensive and defensive team.

That's a net point differential of 26.2 when Danny is on the floor vs sitting.

Just for fun, here is Monte Ellis

Stat \ ON Court \ OFF Court \ Net
    Offense: Pts per 100 Poss. \ 101.8 \ 100.6 \ +1.2
    Defense: Pts per 100 Poss. \ 107.2 \ 111.8 \ -4.6

Monte's net point differential is 5.8.
