Default Game Thread 11: Pacers @ Raptors 1/13/2012

    Fossilize the Raptors!

    Game time: 7:00PM EST

    TV: FSN-Indiana

    STARTERS:

    For your INDIANA PACERS

    And for the Toronto Raptors

    SEASON RECORDS
    7-3 (3-3 Away)
    4-7 (2-3 Home)

    INJURY REPORT
The Pacers are pretty healthy. Seemingly everyone should be able to go tonight, but I wouldn't be surprised to see Foster sit this one out.
For the Raptors, Bargnani is day to day with a calf injury, if he cannot go tonight look for Ed Davis of maybe even Jamaal Magloire to start in his place.

And now for our newly sponsored section of the game thread brought to you by Jack Link's Beef Jerky...

THE MESSIN' WITH SASQUATCH KEYS TO THE GAME

The Raptors Demar Derozan started out this season appearing to finally be getting his legs underneath him as a consistent scorer, including a 22 point game against the Pacers. However, since last Friday, Derozan has been on the midnight train to Chucktown, he is shooting 31% from the field and has seen his scoring average drop to 14PPG. Keeping this trend alive will be Paul George's order of business tonight.

All Roy, all the time. The Raptors are an exceptionally shallow front court even by crappy eastern conference teams' standards particularly on the defensive end. Roy needs to be fed, and fed often.

And finally, the Raptors will be playing their 6th game since last Friday night, January 6th. That has included a back to back AND a back to back to back. They are 1-4 in the first 5 games, including a loss to the Wizards. There's no reason to beat around a bush, this is a team the Pacers should beat even when they are well rested, and tonight, with what will likely be tired legs, there is really no reason the Pacers shouldn't come out with a win.

I am anticipating a monster game for Roy tonight. We need to run the offense through him as much as possible. On defense I see him getting a couple blocks and altering shots on penetration.

Boyle just confirmed on Twitter what I guessed at in the first post of the thread. Foster is taking tonight off.

    We should win this game.

I believe Bargnani might have an injury...hes their only offensive threat. DeRozen has been in a huge struggle of late

Bargnani now doubtful for tonight. No word yet on his replacement.

Jerryd Bayless is doubtful as well.

EDIT: I did not realize that he had been out for so long, so this might be obvious for a lot of you who are more up-to-date than me.

Without Bargnani they don't stand a chance & he should've been on the all-star ballot instead of frickin Joel Anthony

This is such an important matchup. We HAVE to win these kinds of games if we expect to make a run at the bulls for the division. They play Boston tonight, and I feel like the celtics still have enough talent to beat anyone on any given night. Rondo/rose matchup will be fun to watch.

Unless Rose is forced to miss extended time, we aren't gonna finish with a better record than the Bulls.

I agree but rose IMO won't be 100% the rest of The year. Turf toe takes rest to heal and he won't have any unless they shut him down for a month. I still think an 80% rose is better than the pacers. But I doubt The bulls contend unless they let rose get healthy.

Yea they turf toe injury is one of the worst injuries you could ask for in this sort of shortened schedule. It will let you play but over time especially on a guy like Rose it's gonna really start to hurt.

Not trying to be mean here, but that was probably Lance's best interview. He actually sounded like he knew what he was talking about.

I hate my ****ing school. I got all excited when I realized that the channel that was supposed to have Fox Sports Midwest actually had Fox Sports Midwest on air for the first time in 5 years, then as I am waiting for it to switch to Fox Sports Indiana like it does everywhere else it doesn't switch over. Instead it says, "Rams Nation is blacked out on this channel." WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Conseco is like a 20 minute walk from campus and I can't even watch a Pacer game because we have some ****** *** half cable half satillite piece of crap service.
