I watched the play several times and I just had a hard time seeing where or how he got injured.

    Weird.
From my eyes, if you look carefully, it looks like he came down on his elbow while his chest was relatively static, forcing his anterior humerus to pull the pectoralis away from his chest wall. I'd bet that the superior part of the pec was torn, which is the primary thickness of the muscle and takes the longest to heal.

What will determine if he's surgical is whether there's a tear through the mid-substance of the muscle, or whether it pulled away from the clavicle and/or the sternum.

Horford is one of my favorite non-Pacers in terms of the way he plays the game. It's a sad day.

In any event, the most obvious thing about the Frank Vogel era is...his team can not only compete with the Hawks (with or without Horford), he can beat them legitimately. Call it the smash-mouth factor if you will.

it is pretty sad, now they have to play more Zaza, which sucks. That dude does have a really big head like BRush said. He reminds of that one T-Rex from the Robinsons animated movie

Larry Drew: Quick Zaza seize the basketball

    Zaza: **tries repeatedly and fails**

Larry Drew: Why aren't you seizing the basketball?!?!

Zaza: Cause I have a big head and little arms

Tough loss for the Hawks and Horford. And tough loss for my fantasy team.

Can you guys please stop joking around? That's a terrible injury. Hibbert to the All Star game now as the primary backup center with Horford out?

Its sounds like you've had the injury before or the doc a stands for something. I talked to my wife who is a therapist and said the injury can happen both ways but its more likely to tear in a blocked dunk attempt. How was kwames peck torn?

Makes me wonder if he slightly injured it earlier in the weight room or something, because I still have a hard time believing THAT PLAY caused a three month injury.

Almost sounds like a car accident. The accident doesn't hurt you, it's that sudden stop that does all the damage.
You know how hippos are made out to be sweet and silly, like big cows, but are actually extremely dangerous and can kill you with stunning brutality? The Pacers are the NBA's hippos....Matt Moore CBS Sports....

I still don't see how it happened, though. Is anybody in Atlanta alleging wrongdoing on Roy's part?
I think their beat writer accused Lance of flexing his pecs to rub it in.

OK, now looking at the video for few times it looks like Roy did the damage or PG?

Horford left arm gets trapped and pulled away after the block and I think thats what did it.

Yea now looking back that seems like the most likely cause. He seemed fine when the second shot was initially blocked....it's after he gets his arm wrapped around Hibbert on his way down he seems hurt.
