Default Horford out for 3-4 months Marc Spears

Horford is one of those guys that I really like and this sucks, but looking at it from the Pacers side this pretty much put us up there as one of the top 4 teams in the east. Miami, Chicago, Philly, Indy?

For some reason Kwame Brown has the same issue

Ouch: Warriors announce Kwame Brown to undergo surgery (torn pectoral muscle), out for three months.

Hawks saying Horford out "three to four months" with injury. Normally requires surgery but he will get second opinion before making decision

He got hurt getting his shot blocked. Roy sure is dangerous now that he put on all that extra muscle.

Seriously though, OUCH! I didn't even know that was possible! I feel bad for Horford especially since it's such a flukish type of injury.

Oh man, that's rough. Hope he recovers quickly. And hopefully Roy doesn't take it too hard.

The funny part in all this is that this wouldn't happen to a guy like Diaw because you can't pull fat

I thought you were going to say it wouldn't happen because he can't get off the ground.

Does this settle the debate that Hibbert is soft... I mean he has to be a hard *** to tear someone's pectoral muscle...

I hate to hear that & I'm sure Roy feels bad although he did nothing wrong. It was a good clean block.

I may be wrong, but I'm fairly sure he hurt it on the fall not on the block.

I fell terrible for Horford and Atlanta though.

However, it's great for the Pacers and Hibbert's All-Star game chances.

I feel terrible for Horford and the Atlanta fans. While I don't feel terrible at all for their team, who always like to smash us into the ground. Payback is a *****. They are going to be fighting for a low seed more than likely now. I never liked Josh Smith at all, but mostly because he always makes a highlight reel on us.

I feel bad for Hibbert too. I think Horford was a guy Hibbert looked up to and wanted to prove how he can play with him. I'm sure Hibbert would rather see Horford play against him than being hurt. But as a whole, this really helps our chances against them and our playoff positioning. Get well Al!

And I'm just really looking forward to the first Howard and Noah games for Hibbert. Don't come in his house boys!

Embarrassing way to get hurt. About the only thing worse would be to get hurt getting dunked on or to actually get your ankle broke on a sweet crossover.

Man, that's rough. He's a good guy, hate to see him injured.

I still don't see how it happened, though. Is anybody in Atlanta alleging wrongdoing on Roy's part?
Welcome to Pacers Digest! New around here? Here are three tips for making the forum a great place to talk about Pacers basketball.

    • Log in. Even if you want to read instead of post, it's helpful because it lets you:
    • Change your signature options. You can hide all signatures by choosing "Settings" (top right) then "General Settings" (middle left) and unchecking the box "Show Signatures" (in the "Thread Display Options" area).
    • Create an ignore list. I know it may seem unneighborly. But you're here to talk about the Pacers, not argue with someone who's just looking for an argument. Most of the regular users on here make use (at least occasionally) of the "Ignore" feature. Just go to "Settings" -> "Edit Ignore List" and add the names.

    Enjoy your time at PD!

With Horford out for much of the year, Howard on the block and the Celtics old and struggling, 3 and 4 seeds are up for grabs.

This sucks for the Hawks, as Horford is a very important piece to their team and a big share of the reason they were playing as good as they have been this season thus far..

I hope Al can get healthy again, I like him as a player.
But on the flip side, him being out will probably cause the Hawks to slip in the east quite a bit..

Plumlee reminds me of a young Dale Davis. Good rebounding and he contests shots well on defense and his offensive game is very raw just like DD's was coming out of college.

Sucks to hear. Horford is one of the few, if only, Hawks I actually like.

I watched the play several times and I just had a hard time seeing where or how he got injured.

    Weird.

Thus began the legend of Roy Hibbert. Who once blocked a shot so hard he tore a man's pectoral muscle. True Story.

The question is, was it his Pectoralis Major or Pectoralis Minor?
