The Rules of Pacers Digest

Hello everyone,

Whether your are a long standing forum member or whether you have just registered today, it's a good idea to read and review the rules below so that you have a very good idea of what to expect when you come to Pacers Digest.

A quick note to new members: Your posts will not immediately show up when you make them. An administrator has to approve at least your first post before the forum software will later upgrade your account to the status of a fully-registered member. This usually happens within a couple of hours or so after your post(s) is/are approved, so you may need to be a little patient at first.

Why do we do this? So that it's more difficult for spammers (be they human or robot) to post, and so users who are banned cannot immediately re-register and start dousing people with verbal flames.

Below are the rules of Pacers Digest. After you have read them, you will have a very good sense of where we are coming from, what we expect, what we don't want to see, and how we react to things.

Rule #1

Pacers Digest is intended to be a place to discuss basketball without having to deal with the kinds of behaviors or attitudes that distract people from sticking with the discussion of the topics at hand. These unwanted distractions can come in many forms, and admittedly it can sometimes be tricky to pin down each and every kind that can rear its ugly head, but we feel that the following examples and explanations cover at least a good portion of that ground and should at least give people a pretty good idea of the kinds of things we actively discourage:

"Anyone who __________ is a liar / a fool / an idiot / a blind homer / has their head buried in the sand / a blind hater / doesn't know basketball / doesn't watch the games"

"People with intelligence will agree with me when I say that __________"

"Only stupid people think / believe / do ___________"

"I can't wait to hear something from PosterX when he/she sees that **insert a given incident or current event that will have probably upset or disappointed PosterX here**"

"He/she is just delusional"

"This thread is stupid / worthless / embarrassing"

"I'm going to take a moment to point and / laugh at PosterX / GroupOfPeopleY who thought / believed *insert though/belief here*"

"Remember when PosterX said OldCommentY that no longer looks good? "

In general, if a comment goes from purely on topic to something 'ad hominem' (personal jabs, personal shots, attacks, flames, however you want to call it, towards a person, or a group of people, or a given city/state/country of people), those are most likely going to be found intolerable.

We also dissuade passive aggressive behavior. This can be various things, but common examples include statements that are basically meant to imply someone is either stupid or otherwise incapable of holding a rational conversation. This can include (but is not limited to) laughing at someone's conclusions rather than offering an honest rebuttal, asking people what game they were watching, or another common problem is Poster X will say "that player isn't that bad" and then Poster Y will say something akin to "LOL you think that player is good". We're not going to tolerate those kinds of comments out of respect for the community at large and for the sake of trying to just have an honest conversation.

Now, does the above cover absolutely every single kind of distraction that is unwanted? Probably not, but you should by now have a good idea of the general types of things we will be discouraging. The above examples are meant to give you a good feel for / idea of what we're looking for. If something new or different than the above happens to come along and results in the same problem (that being, any other attitude or behavior that ultimately distracts from actually just discussing the topic at hand, or that is otherwise disrespectful to other posters), we can and we will take action to curb this as well, so please don't take this to mean that if you managed to technically avoid saying something exactly like one of the above examples that you are then somehow off the hook.

That all having been said, our goal is to do so in a generally kind and respectful way, and that doesn't mean the moment we see something we don't like that somebody is going to be suspended or banned, either. It just means that at the very least we will probably say something about it, quite possibly snipping out the distracting parts of the post in question while leaving alone the parts that are actually just discussing the topics, and in the event of a repeating or excessive problem, then we will start issuing infractions to try to further discourage further repeat problems, and if it just never seems to improve, then finally suspensions or bans will come into play. We would prefer it never went that far, and most of the time for most of our posters, it won't ever have to.

A slip up every once and a while is pretty normal, but, again, when it becomes repetitive or excessive, something will be done. Something occasional is probably going to be let go (within reason), but when it starts to become habitual or otherwise a pattern, odds are very good that we will step in.

There's always a small minority that like to push people's buttons and/or test their own boundaries with regards to the administrators, and in the case of someone acting like that, please be aware that this is not a court of law, but a private website run by people who are simply trying to do the right thing as they see it. If we feel that you are a special case that needs to be dealt with in an exceptional way because your behavior isn't explicitly mirroring one of our above examples of what we generally discourage, we can and we will take atypical action to prevent this from continuing if you are not cooperative with us.

Also please be aware that you will not be given a pass simply by claiming that you were 'only joking,' because quite honestly, when someone really is just joking, for one thing most people tend to pick up on the joke, including the person or group that is the target of the joke, and for another thing, in the event where an honest joke gets taken seriously and it upsets or angers someone, the person who is truly 'only joking' will quite commonly go out of his / her way to apologize and will try to mend fences. People who are dishonest about their statements being 'jokes' do not do so, and in turn that becomes a clear sign of what is really going on. It's nothing new.

In any case, quite frankly, the overall quality and health of the entire forum's community is more important than any one troublesome user will ever be, regardless of exactly how a problem is exhibiting itself, and if it comes down to us having to make a choice between you versus the greater health and happiness of the entire community, the community of this forum will win every time.

Lastly, there are also some posters, who are generally great contributors and do not otherwise cause any problems, who sometimes feel it's their place to provoke or to otherwise 'mess with' that small minority of people described in the last paragraph, and while we possibly might understand why you might feel you WANT to do something like that, the truth is we can't actually tolerate that kind of behavior from you any more than we can tolerate the behavior from them. So if we feel that you are trying to provoke those other posters into doing or saying something that will get themselves into trouble, then we will start to view you as a problem as well, because of the same reason as before: The overall health of the forum comes first, and trying to stir the pot with someone like that doesn't help, it just makes it worse. Some will simply disagree with this philosophy, but if so, then so be it because ultimately we have to do what we think is best so long as it's up to us.

If you see a problem that we haven't addressed, the best and most appropriate course for a forum member to take here is to look over to the left of the post in question. See underneath that poster's name, avatar, and other info, down where there's a little triangle with an exclamation point (!) in it? Click that. That allows you to report the post to the admins so we can definitely notice it and give it a look to see what we feel we should do about it. Beyond that, obviously it's human nature sometimes to want to speak up to the poster in question who has bothered you, but we would ask that you try to refrain from doing so because quite often what happens is two or more posters all start going back and forth about the original offending post, and suddenly the entire thread is off topic or otherwise derailed. So while the urge to police it yourself is understandable, it's best to just report it to us and let us handle it. Thank you!

All of the above is going to be subject to a case by case basis, but generally and broadly speaking, this should give everyone a pretty good idea of how things will typically / most often be handled.

Rule #2

If the actions of an administrator inspire you to make a comment, criticism, or express a concern about it, there is a wrong place and a couple of right places to do so.

The wrong place is to do so in the original thread in which the administrator took action. For example, if a post gets an infraction, or a post gets deleted, or a comment within a larger post gets clipped out, in a thread discussing Paul George, the wrong thing to do is to distract from the discussion of Paul George by adding your off topic thoughts on what the administrator did.

The right places to do so are:

A) Start a thread about the specific incident you want to talk about on the Feedback board. This way you are able to express yourself in an area that doesn't throw another thread off topic, and this way others can add their two cents as well if they wish, and additionally if there's something that needs to be said by the administrators, that is where they will respond to it.

B) Send a private message to the administrators, and they can respond to you that way.

If this is done the wrong way, those comments will be deleted, and if it's a repeating problem then it may also receive an infraction as well.

Rule #3

If a poster is bothering you, and an administrator has not or will not deal with that poster to the extent that you would prefer, you have a powerful tool at your disposal, one that has recently been upgraded and is now better than ever: The ability to ignore a user.

When you ignore a user, you will unfortunately still see some hints of their existence (nothing we can do about that), however, it does the following key things:

A) Any post they make will be completely invisible as you scroll through a thread.

B) The new addition to this feature: If someone QUOTES a user you are ignoring, you do not have to read who it was, or what that poster said, unless you go out of your way to click on a link to find out who it is and what they said.

To utilize this feature, from any page on Pacers Digest, scroll to the top of the page, look to the top right where it says 'Settings' and click that. From the settings page, look to the left side of the page where it says 'My Settings', and look down from there until you see 'Edit Ignore List' and click that. From here, it will say 'Add a Member to Your List...' Beneath that, click in the text box to the right of 'User Name', type in or copy & paste the username of the poster you are ignoring, and once their name is in the box, look over to the far right and click the 'Okay' button. All done!

Rule #4

Regarding infractions, currently they carry a value of one point each, and that point will expire in 31 days. If at any point a poster is carrying three points at the same time, that poster will be suspended until the oldest of the three points expires.

Rule #5

When you share or paste content or articles from another website, you must include the URL/link back to where you found it, who wrote it, and what website it's from. Said content will be removed if this doesn't happen.

An example:

If I copy and paste an article from the Indianapolis Star website, I would post something like this:

http://www.linktothearticlegoeshere.com/article
Title of the Article
Author's Name
Indianapolis Star

Rule #6

We cannot tolerate illegal videos on Pacers Digest. This means do not share any links to them, do not mention any websites that host them or link to them, do not describe how to find them in any way, and do not ask about them. Posts doing anything of the sort will be removed, the offenders will be contacted privately, and if the problem becomes habitual, you will be suspended, and if it still persists, you will probably be banned.

The legal means of watching or listening to NBA games are NBA League Pass Broadband (for US, or for International; both cost money) and NBA Audio League Pass (which is free). Look for them on NBA.com.

Rule #7

Provocative statements in a signature, or as an avatar, or as the 'tagline' beneath a poster's username (where it says 'Member' or 'Administrator' by default, if it is not altered) are an unwanted distraction that will more than likely be removed on sight. There can be shades of gray to this, but in general this could be something political or religious that is likely going to provoke or upset people, or otherwise something that is mean-spirited at the expense of a poster, a group of people, or a population.

It may or may not go without saying, but this goes for threads and posts as well, particularly when it's not made on the off-topic board (Market Square).

We do make exceptions if we feel the content is both innocuous and unlikely to cause social problems on the forum (such as wishing someone a Merry Christmas or a Happy Easter), and we also also make exceptions if such topics come up with regards to a sports figure (such as the Lance Stephenson situation bringing up discussions of domestic abuse and the law, or when Jason Collins came out as gay and how that lead to some discussion about gay rights).

However, once the discussion seems to be more/mostly about the political issues instead of the sports figure or his specific situation, the thread is usually closed.

Rule #8

We prefer self-restraint and/or modesty when making jokes or off topic comments in a sports discussion thread. They can be fun, but sometimes they derail or distract from a topic, and we don't want to see that happen. If we feel it is a problem, we will either delete or move those posts from the thread.

Rule #9

Generally speaking, we try to be a "PG-13" rated board, and we don't want to see sexual content or similarly suggestive content. Vulgarity is a more muddled issue, though again we prefer things to lean more towards "PG-13" than "R". If we feel things have gone too far, we will step in.

Rule #10

We like small signatures, not big signatures. The bigger the signature, the more likely it is an annoying or distracting signature.

Rule #11

Do not advertise anything without talking about it with the administrators first. This includes advertising with your signature, with your avatar, through private messaging, and/or by making a thread or post.

  • Odd Thoughts: Philadelphia Freedom

Our team is not about excuses so instead of lamenting the fact that we were shorthanded we will just congratulate the 76ers on a very well played game. They have a very nice team and we parallel each other in many ways. They have a very strong bench and have shooters that can make you pay for backing off of them. They are physical on defense and have a couple of very athletic players who can use either length (Young) or strength (Iguodala) to make you very uncomfortable.

So hats off to them, they won fair and square. Do I think that it might have been different with our other players? Yes, but that does not imply that I think we would have cake walked to a win. They are a good young team.

However having said all of that I’m not worried about tonight’s loss other than the fact that it goes in the “L” column. This upcoming week is going to be a test to say the least but let’s be honest with ourselves here, we need to know if this team is really about being one of the best in the east or if we are just going to at the top tier of the lower end.

Now I pray to God that Tyler’s eye is ok and that he can go vs. the Hawks. If he misses then our entire team’s chemistry and physical play changes. If both he and Hill are out then I think that this is going to be one painful week.

Let’s do the good the bad and the ugly tonight.

    The Good:

Team effort: I was proud that we battled hard all night long, not only were we missing players but the players who we were counting on to pick up the pace struggled (in a couple of cases that is putting it mildly). But overall I think the team’s energy was right where you wanted it to be, I think everybody left everything on the floor but at the end of the day we are still suffering from an amazing lack of ability to hit open shots.

Roy Hibbert: Spencer Hawes has done a magnificent job of resurrecting his career in Philadelphia. He has become one of the good young centers in the NBA and I think the 76ers should be happy to have him. However he couldn’t guard Roy and if anybody would have been able to get the ball to Roy (or better yet hit an open shot to take the double team option away) he would have had a monster night. But between his ankle, fatigue and our guards amazing ability to not get a good entry pass he just outplayed Hawes. Again, that sound you hear in the background is the cash register ringing with David Faulk pushing the buttons.

Tyler Hansbrough: When he was on the court he was very effective and was really on his way to fouling out the front line of the 76ers. However a scratched eye took him out of the game so he didn’t have the stat line that he could have. Am I the only one who panics whenever Tyler gets a hit to the head? I just do NOT want anything to affect his balance or make him miss games. He is FAR too important to our club this season for him to miss any extended time.

Dahntay Jones: Ok I know this isn’t going to be popular because yes there were a couple of times that the offense stalled when he was in the game. But overall I thought he did a very admirable job of filling in for Danny and he certainly had one of the most spectacular blocks of the season when he jammed Hawes right at the rim. He shot 50% from the floor so in a way he was an improvement over Granger from that aspect anyway. Yes he has his warts but I think he did exactly what you would want the backup to do when they have to step into a starting role.

David West: He tried to keep us going. He is having a very rough time getting his shot to fall (like everyone else on our team) and I’m beginning to wonder if he isn’t further out of shape than what we originally thought. But overall he played a smart game and his rebounding was solid. I probably would put him in the decent category other than good but we’ll go with this for now.

    The Bad:

Lance Stephenson: He would have to improve his game from tonight to be bad, in fact he was abysmal. He had a good steal and a nice break away, but other than that? If it were possible to assign someone to the D-League mid game I would have been all for it. I don’t get it to be honest with you. Other than a decent ability to handle the ball and make some very good passes I haven’t seen really a lot of reasons why we are force feeding this guy min. and I’m not a Lance hater at all. But he can’t shoot, is a horrid defender and is sometime careless with the basketball but other than that I guess he must be a heck of a player.

Darren Collison: This was just not Darren’s night. He’s been very good for most of the season but he couldn’t make a clean pass in the post to save his soul tonight and obviously shooting was not on the menu either. I’ll give him a pass because for the most part this season he has been very good. But even his defense took a step backwards tonight.

Paul George: SNL cast members are (or were I’m not sure if they still do or not) called not ready for prime time players. Well, um yea. Don’t let the decent stat line fool you, this was not a good game by the young talented player at all. Lots of sloppy dribbling, a few head down drive to the lane and charge over the defender when other options were available and once again like everyone else just some very poor shooting. Now he did do a good job on the glass so I want to credit him with that. He’ll do better next time.

    The Ugly:

A.J. Price: Ok his overall game was not ugly, it was in fact bad, but I’m sorry two boneheaded plays in the 4th quarter were just too much for me. I don’t know which was worse his pull up jumper that he missed only to eventually get the ball back and take and miss the exact same shot again with almost no time off of the clock and not looking for anything else or his brilliant pass behind Collison that blew a four on one fast break. Now mind you both of these plays occurred when the game still mattered and in could have been a chance for us to get some momentum, not saying it would have, but this didn’t help. It’s early in the season for him and I still would prefer him on the floor to Lance but sorry this just wasn’t his best game, not by a long shot. To his credit though he did do a better job on defense than Collison did.

Ok, tough loss but not something we can dwell on and certainly not something that any of us should be making any kind of grand statements about one way or the other.

We all need to get together tomorrow and pass around El Pacero’s drum and beat on it for awhile and do a healing dance for Tyler’s eye and George’s back. While were at it we should all chip in some money to get Danny a bottle of Maalox.

You are not alone. Every time Tyler gets hit in the head or goes to the ground I worry about his concussion/vertigo problem from his rookie season. Hopefully it's a thing of the past and not a concern, but I still worry.

Lance looks bad, but it looks like he's trying to stay within the offense to his detriment.

His biggest talent is scoring, so it'd be nice to see him be very aggressive.

Another reason to hope that Tyler is okay is Fluffy. I think Roy is getting off the ground better than he is. No Tyler really gives us front court problems that will lead to either a lot of small ball or just no scoring, probably both. George looked like he consciously decided that he was going to be "the guy" this game. Unfortunately, he didn't recognize that that player should have been Roy.

Great writeup, Peck. With the over-reactionary nature of the post game threads, I wonder if skipping them altogether and beginning to discuss the game in depth in your threads makes more sense.

This infuriated me from Price, glad I wasn't the only one. Hibbert was clearly on a roll and instead of giving him the ball when Philly couldn't stop him, Price acts like he's Kobe only to miss two straight off-balance tough running shots. Sheesh. Act like the backup PG, not the team's go-to guy.

Honestly, the same thought about sending Stephenson to the D-League crossed my mind mid-game as well. In 4 minutes of action, he missed a layup, (then following) let his defender blow by him in transition for a layup, slipped with the ball and had to call a timeout, and badly missed a three point attempt. I'm all for keeping this guy on the roster because of his supposed "upside" and talent as the 13 or 14th man, but by no means, should we be force feeding him minutes just because he COULD be good one day. Our second unit is good enough where he should be buried in the rotation if George Hill is healthy.

The game looks like it's moving at 1,000 MPH for Lance, and at this point, maybe he could use a stint in the D-League. He has to slow things down a bit. While this can happen for young players getting their feet wet, see Tyler Hansbrough. I'm not sure we can afford to give him the kind of minutes he needs to slow the game down for him without it causing a train wreck and severely diminishing our chances of winning on a game by game basis. I'm not sure this 5-10 minutes per game is going to get the job done.

Can't get upset at PG for not being aggressive and then say he shot too much. PG took all good shots they just didn't drop. I loved what he did, and normally he hits all those shots. Last year he didn't miss hardly a jump shot inside of 20 feet. He was taking good shots. They just didn't drop.

Also, one of those charges had was clearly a blown call, while the other charge he was called for was once again a flop that just didn't go his way.

Not saying he has a lot to improve upon. He does. And he didn't play good at all tonight. But he was definitely making the right decisions.

I don't think he was horrible, and I expect games like this (and worse) out of him. He's still so young and raw yet. However - they weren't all good shots. A couple were 3's early in the shot clock and I distinctly remember him hoisting a 3 immediately after an offensive rebound when it would have been smarter to run it through the post.

One charge was questionable, but this is a not a new thing for PG - he seems to get at least one of those "put your head down and bowl your defender over" offensive fouls per game. I expect he'll work himself out of it, just as Roy learned not to foul himself off the court in 10 minutes time.

But I think it may take the full year for PG to make his next big leap, which I imagine will be disappointing for many people.

*sigh* after this, I'm completely done arguing this stuff. But it just bugs me because it's inaccurate.

Hibbert was not on a role. Hibbert had just entered the game. (Literally) Price was playing the shooting guard position. He had two wide open mid-range shots. Why is it bad that your shooting guard took two open mid-range shots?

Sure, it sucks that he missed. It sucks that he went 1-7. But I don't understand the criticism of your shooting guard taking two uncontested shots, when at that point, no one was scoring well. Should he have slowed down, and not leaned forward. And squared up and shot the ball. Absolutely. Should he have not taken them? I had no problem with the shots. He had gotten the ball back in a position to score. It was a good shot, he just made them harder than they needed to be. (Also a pattern with this team.)

If you want to criticize a play of his. I'd go with the behind Darren Collison indecisive pass. That was bad. He contributed to the Pacers stupid turnovers and stupid decisions. Which is unlike him. But he wasn't the only one who made a stupid pass tonight. So singling him out for that is also unfair. And the only reason why he had the opportunity to make that bad play, was because he stole the ball in the first place. Which I guess can be my problem. AJ wasn't the only player with a bad turnover. Our team had like five in a row in the first half. And yet for some reason, AJ, has to not make a mistake, or pretty close to it, to not be singled out as being terrible. He did some dumb crap. But he was certainly not alone.

So yea, he had a few ugly possessions. But he once again looked the best at running the offense. And he played very good defense. And he created a lot of extra possessions with said defense. (He had quite a few deflections to go with the two steals.) The only Pacer with a positive +/-. But we're going to define his game off of two missed shots and a turnover on the break, a break he created with his steal? (Which by the way, Paul George had done the exact same thing earlier in the game, only instead of turning it over by passing, he dribbled into trouble.)

There wasn't a Pacer other than Roy (and maybe Dahntay) who had a good game. Our shooting was ugly, the turnovers were ugly. Price's plays...more like a long line of plays that reinforced the fact that tonight was just not going to be our night. (like PG's dunk..)

on Tyler: I swear I saw blood from his nose too. The eye..does he wear contacts? If so, THAT could be a problem for a bit. He'll probably be able to see out of it by Wednesday, I'd guess he'll have to wear protective goggles, but can play. Unless it's really bad. Just going from my experiences with eye scratches. I feel for Tyler though, eye injuries suck..just really suck. Like...one of the most irritating things I've seen.

Count me in the group that worries about Hansbrough and getting hit in the head after his previous issues. He went from beasting in game 1 vs Bulls last playoffs to missing everything he threw up the rest of the series after taking that KO blow from Kurt Thomas elbow.

                    Re: Odd Thoughts: Philadelphia Freedom

The first shot wasn't bad, the second was definitely bad. The Pacers are having a problem recognizing their roles. Which means even though AJ was in at two guard at that time, he shouldn't have taken a quick second shot. The shot was off balance because he immediately attacked the basket and his momentum of course had him off balance. But thats not even the point. Rotate the ball back out so our primary offensive players get the ball. Period. That's what teams who win do. See: The Heat, The Bulls. All those teams know to get the ball to Rose, Deng, Wade and LeBron all day long. Why isn't the same happening here?

At that time the lineup was made up of DC, AJ, PG, West and Hibbert. West, PG and Hibbert should have been the primary offensive weapons at the moment which means AJ should have passed it back out so DC could set up the offense and we get the ball to much more potent weapons.

I can't emphasize this more. This is one of the main reasons why the offense is struggling. There isn't much ball movement because almost everyone on the team considers themselves some sort of offensive weapon. They aren't. Pass the ball around and move it too Roy, Paul and West. Period.

Even that three he took prior wasn't the best shot. I'm not too upset because it was an open shot, but there are only two legit three point shooters on this team. Paul and Danny. They can hit all day and should be taking shots. But DC, Juice and Inferno need to be very selective in their three point shots, which absolutely means they should pass up on them sometimes when they're open.

Edit- and I don't care of AJ went 1-7 or if would have went 5-7. That second shot specifically was bad, and if he thinks when he is in at two guard that gives him the green light to chuck it with 20 seconds on the shot clock than that's going to lead to the Pacers not playing at their best.

Edit number 2- The Pacers offense was easily at its best when Paul was on the wing feeding Roy into the post. It worked because not only were those the two best offensive weapons, but both are willing passers. If Paul passes to Roy in the post, he still has a great chance of getting the ball back. He stretches the court giving Roy room to work, he makes great entry passes, and when he cuts to the basket Roy is a willing enough passer to hit him as he cuts. Now if we were to put DC over in the same position feeding Hands Bro for instance, than you have a completely different situation. DC can't stretch the floor because he's not a shooter. DC doesn't make good entry passes although he has gotten much better. If Tyler receives the ball in the post he absolutely will not pass even if Roy is standing under the basket wide up with no one with in 20 feet. This is hurting our offense. Our guys need to focus once again on allowing the best offensive players to dominate the ball.

Edit number 3- With that said, I was mostly happy about how the offense was run tonight, but I am mostly speaking in general about the entire season. Also, I feel if there is much of a focus on getting those guys the ball, then the ball movement will increase to such a point that our less talented players are going to get layups and open shots. But generally I see this, and def. saw it tonight: Mostly as we got down the court DC would pass to PG, PG would hit Roy or West and from there we got good shots. However, if the ball ever got beyond them, a secondary offensive player would generally chuck it, almost afraid it was his once chance to shoot.

I agree with the "roles" things, especially tonight. I think the second unit had worked so well recently with Price, Hill, Jones, Hans, and Foster is that the unit had defined roles and they worked off each other. Hans and Hill were the main scoring threats. Price runs the offense, directs traffic, Jones scores in transition, and Foster does the grunge work.

Tonight, I don't know that anyone knew what they were trying to do, or what their goals should be. That's a function of not having two really important players.

Paul needs to put pressure on the defense, because tonight he didn't. There's no reason for him to do his best JO impression when he has inches on someone in the post.

That's a basketball play, and we've been a little short on those so far.

You want to know why it doesn't work like that on this team? Because we have no one like those players. We have no one that you can consistently give the ball to and expect them to score. The closest thing we have to a consistent threat on offense is the kick out to George for a 3. We have no shooters and our scorers aren't very good scorers. He took a bad shot that wouldn't even rank on agranger's top 5 bad shots from any given game the past two seasons.

Let me say something about the turnover. Bad play yeah of course, but you don't see people get crucified when they give up easy offensives rebounds which are far worse. Then there was the time a couple games ago when Granger stole a ball but was about to fall out of bounds. Instead of falling out of bounds or throwing it to the other end he threw it straight to the other team for an easy basket. Yet he didn't get half the flake Price is getting for doing something far worse.

I posted this in gamethread, and I want to share my thoughts here...

Paul George , is every bit AS GOOD as Reggie Miller was at the same juncture of their careers..

Reggie was just as raw , and by the end of his second year, he was avg 16ppg . Then his transition into his 3rd year he grew into an all star talent.
I really believe that Paul George CAN be a franchise level player, heck we are seeing it develop in front of our eyes.

Pretty nice to imagine Hibbert and George BOTH realizing their potential..

And in INDIANA of all places .... Lady Luck has been good to us .

And to think, I haven't even mentioned Hansbrough, who has a very good shot at making an all star game if he keeps up his level of play and improves upon it..
I even think he would make the all-defensive team... probably BEFORE he makes an all star appearance as a reserve..

I mean seriously... What coach wouldn't want an opportunity to coach Tyler for a game? lol (besides Mario Van Jermey .. heh)

NOBODY wants to play against Hansbrough..... NOBODY !! .... argh! ....
