    Default Nets/Pacers postgame thread

This is what I wanted to see, an inferior team getting destroyed by the Pacers, it took 3 quarters but they finally did it, great game for PG 21 points 3reb 2 ast 1block and 1stl, for those that hate Lou, he got 7 points 6reb 2ast and 1block, yep we got those numbers from the last guy off the bench

We finally had a good shooting percentage..... go Pacers

It took Bird 3 years to unload Rush and he never could unload Tinsley. Both had better talent than Dahntay.

To be fair, the Nets are probably the worst team in the NBA. To also be fair, we finally took care of business in a big way and our starters were able to get some good rest.

Great game and great way to boost our confidence to pass the ball and play as a unit offensively. Again, too much talent offensively to not be effective.

The games against Miami and Boston should be a good ones.

Miami lost to Atlanta who I think will be neck and neck with us all season long. Even early on, both teams are 4-1.

Seeing how the Pistons beat the Magic, I don't feel so bad about the loss the other night. Now, if they combine the offense tonight with the defense from the first three games, then the Pacers will be a hard team to beat.

26 asts says the Pacers were passing and sharing the ball. This was missing in the 2nd Detroit game.

Toronto also played the Mavs well and just beat the Knicks tonight. Cavs have looked better too. our first 5 games were definitely light but not as terribly easy as people thought

Got the chance to shake some rust off and rack up some wins against weak sisters. Now lets see how do on the road against some quality opposition.

Danny seems to be continuing his career trend of declining fg%. Couldn't watch the entire game, but that 4-14 really stood out.

Yes it is depressing. On the other hand, he did have a decent all around game with some boards, assists, and D. But, it would be nice if the guy shoot aroun mid 40s in FG%.

Meanwhile his 3pt % has stayed consistently solid throughout his career. That, and watching him over the last 7 years tells me he is a spot up shooter and needs to remain such. He's just not effective at all when trying to create for himself. Pacers would greatly benefit if he would alter his style of play.

I don't think he is altering his game he is who he is and that's it.

Foolish comment considering every great player alters their game in order to improve as a player, Jordan, Bird, Nash, Reggie, Shaq, Kobe, included.

No doubt. That would also include no leading the break/open court ball handling too. Find the PG and fill the lane/trail for a 3. His handles/decision making in the open court are a recipe for disaster. In the half court, I suppose somebody has to play the initiate own offense role given our personnel.

Danny has really been forcing bad shots consistently this year. He'll drive to the basket and have 3 or 4 guys on him and he still tries to shoot.

If Danny can learn to trust his teammates and pass more (and pass at the right time, he seemed to hold the ball too long when he did pass), then his shooting % will go up.

I find myself agreeing. Last couple years I wanted him to drive more. This year and with this team I'd rather see the Pacers setting more screens for him to run off of and hit open jump shots. His ball handling and vision drives me nuts when he drives, but I like the defensive effort and he has a sweet stroke.

Agree totally. Just when we were hoping to see that part of his game develop along comes JOB. Danny drives but he has no real moves going to the rim and nothing to dish from. He gets into traffic and makes bail out passes, not proper, smooth and controlled "I meant to do this" passes or plays.

On one hand you need him to be able to drive, but on the other if he's not going to improve the skill then he'll have to back off forcing it. It's a catch 22 this year because he'll have to improve during games where he won't be good at it while he's trying it.

I noticed they are working on posting him too and that he's not really comfortable with that either.

I saw that too, but I think that's the way Danny needs to go. He's pretty big, and he's got poor handles. He's much better off with a post up game.
