i wouldn't take him on the Pacers now. We've got a good thing going on. And I don't think the environment suits a self entitled headcase like Cousins - rookie coach, a team of good guys but idk if any of them is built to play kindergarten.

I would've taken someone like him 2 years ago with my eyes closed.

I haven't read this thread but regarding Cousins demanding a trade just makes me laugh.

I remember the '09/'10 season when the pacers were playing so bad that we thought we could be picking up in the 4 or 5 spot. Cousins was on the radar. But the experts warned of his immaturity issues. A good majority on PD proclaimed he was a head case and that we need to stay away from Artest 2.0.

I could see GMs asking their scouts about potential draft picks whether the player has a high trade demand %. lol

Cousins has problems with his college and NBA coaches, so why would you want to bring in such a distruptive problem to your team's coach and his other players to have to deal with? The negative far out weighs the positive.

First I will say I am disappointed that he cost me the win in the first week of fantasy basketball by pulling this move.

2nd it is sad that this guy has so much talent but seems to be pretty uncoachable. I saw him in high school play against Renardo Sidney and it was a wonderful match up, from then I thought the sky was the limit for this guy, the only thing holding him back is himself.

With his background I have no idea what they will possibly get for him, it should be interesting to see how this situation turns out. If I was his coach I would show him a video of Stephen Marbury's career, hopefully that will help him see what his future could be like.

Attitude aside is Cousins really that talented?

I see a guy too slow & unathletic to play the 4 in the modern NBA. Has trouble getting his shot off against long athletic match-ups. Not a defensive force.

Just one more big that needs to play Center and also needs to play next to "the right guy".

Coach Cal had him under control in college. Pau Westpau isnt quite near the same level as coach Cal. Westpaul should of been fired last year. One gets the best out of his players the other gets the worst out of his.

    Interesting debate

Its hard to speculate would the Pacers get involved in a trade for Cousins, without knwoing what it would cost them

If the offer was some combination of a 1st round pick and a player like (Dhanty Jones, Pendergrass, Price, etc) I would be all over that. Though I doubt Sacramento would. The risk in taking on a guy like Cousins is minimal, because he would onlyn have 1 more year guaranteed, and one restricted. The biggest issue to me is what if he did get his act together and produce, then do you reward him with a big contract?

I know these situations are different but I remember when Zach Randolph was potentially avaialable and saw enough people posting here that you would think he was some version of the Anti Christ. He has since had no issues and was a big key to the Grizzlies success

Risk is trade is just like the stock market. You can have all the information needed to make an intelligent decesion, yet still have it backfire

I will say that even if Demarcus had no issues , that is not our biggest need. After 4 games to me it is painfully obvious but for the 3rd straight year we have needed a player who can create off the dribble

I would much rather keep pushing to aquire a guy like Oj Mayo or Eric Gordon

There is an interesting name. His name was brought up during the draft. What happened to him?

Multiple executives believe any offer Kings get for Cousins will be a "low ball." Keeping him away from team hurts offers

Horsefeathers. My best friend is from KY, a graduate of UK, and is an avid UK fan. Cousins and Calapari had run ins while Cousins was at KY. If they hadn't, Cousins' attitude would never ever have been an issue when being drafted.

I agree Westphal can't handle Cousins, so that just makes the problem worse. Cousins best bet would be to go to a team with a strong coach and good vets who could make him toe the line.

No, he didn't. Cousins had numerous run ins with the coaches at Kentucky.

He is a center. In no way should he play the power forward position in the NBA. He's a center, and should play the position. Not sure he necessarily needs to play next to "the right guy," but it certainly never hurts.

He manages to average 13, 11 and 2 blocks in just over half a game, and that's while being the most mistake-prone center in the NBA.

You'd have to be blind not to see that he's talented.

Yup it surprised me when he went back to school, I think it really has not done too much for his draft stock, he still is a big man with talent though. He lacks motivation though, never a good thing especially for a big man.

Can anyone guess the season high for assists this year is for Sacramento?

    Five.

    For Jimmer Fredette.

    Off the bench.

This might be the most selfish team the NBA has seen in decades.

13 points on 13 shots and 30% shooting. Not exactly what I'd call an efficient center.

...did you miss the part where I said he was extremely mistake-prone?

The fact he can screw up that much and still manage a double-double is remarkable.

Anyone who could rebound could do that if they shoot enough times. I am not sure I consider flinging shots at the rim a talent unless they're actually good at making them.

This man is shooting %35. And a good portion of his makes come from chasing down his own bricks and putting them back up.

You're using far too many stats from a 5 game sample size, like its pure fact that it'll stay there. Tyler played his rookie season dizzy and has a higher FG% career than Cousins.

I guess you'd rather have a player on the Pistons who missed his shot and pouted away instead of getting it back and putting it in. Good choice.

I would do a Djones and this years first for cousins. Give him 2 years with Dwest and its worth the gamble especially if we are picking around 20s in this years draft.
