Missed the game. Whats the explanation for the poor shooting, are shots not falling due to rust? Or was shot selection poor?

This team certainly has the talent to be much better offensively, more than anything, I'm impressed they have been able to grind out wins with defense and rebounds.

Then again, we really haven't played anybody yet.
In this game it was terrible ball movement and execution that led to poor shot selection and thus a poor shooting %.

Fact: The Pacers once again shot under 40% from the field, the third time this season (if you're counting at home, that's every game)

Belief: It seemed like, as Quinn and Denari pointed out, almost all the 50/50 loose balls went to the Cavaliers, most for easy buckets.

Yea, that was definitely the worst game I have ever seen Paul play. Roy on the other hand played like a 7'2" God of Basketball out there. I was so happy for him because I really really want to see him be an elite player. He played like one tonight.

David West is a total badass, and he hits clutch shots. He takes all the pressure off of Danny and Roy. He is just the perfect piece to the puzzle. I was so damn wrong about him lol...

A good win that should have been a loss. How many times is Irving going to miss a point blank uncontested layup? not many.

The Central will be top heavy for a season or two, but with Knight and Irving on the scene, I have a feeling things will get very competitive.

Rank the point guards in the Central Division:

    1. Rose
    2. Irving
    3. Knight
    4. Collison
    5. Jennings
    6. Stuckey

I am sure that a few players could be moved up and down the ladder of my rankings. Collison has to develop into a solid point guard and adequate defender or we will find ourselves in far too many precarious situations.

I thought we looked tired, again IMO. That could account for the crap heap we produced tonight for anyone wondering.

Well, to answer my own question, apparently the Pacers were 0-19 when shooting under 40% last year.

So far we are 3-0 shooting under 40%, that bodes well. I think the offense will get on track eventually, we will be a scary team.

Wall looked ok as a rookie, but Irving looks a lot better to me, and Wall had a lot more hpye out of college.

I thought the cavs defense was good tonight, the best defense against the pacers thus far
Wall is the much better athlete but Irving is a much better pg. Wall is an athletic freak main reason he was a lock to go one. Irving is just an ok athlete as far as NBA players go.

But the main thing that impress me about him in college was how he controlled the team and always made the right decision. He is a very good decision maker and a good defender. He knows his limitations I just though he was solid all the way around in college. draft experts just think players who aren't great athletes have limited upside that just isn't true IMO. Basketball skills get over looked sometimes when they shouldn't be.

I keep seeing Stuckey referenced as a PG, isn't Will Bynum their starter at PG? I thought Stuckey was more like an undersized 2.

I like the fact the Pacers are winning ugly games that they would have lost last year. Champions do that.

I am not saying this is a championship team, but they are starting to show some od the traits of a contender, now on to beating better teams.

Ugly game, but it's a win. This road trip will say a lot about the team.

A player like Mayo & Crawford would have been great tonight.

The only way I can honestly say why Irving's layup at the end of regulation went out was because of karma for the crap officiating job.

me too, but danny's half-contest of that shot right at the end had to have distracted him even if it was a tiny bit. that little bit can make the difference between getting the friendly bounce and it rolling off the rim like it did.

Irving is going to be really really good. In two years he'll be mentioned with Chris Pau, Rubio l and Derrick Rose as the best point guards in the nba.

I think George Hill is our best defensive player, especially off the ball he is great
Rubio should be on that list as well the guy is going to be a beast.

The Heat are also winning ugly games. They needed help from the ref's and miracle shots by wade to beat Charlotte and Minnesota.

    Good teams win ugly games.

I would have to imagine that we can only get better.

I'm a pretty big Dahntay supporter. I see a lot of good he does. I think he's a good teammate. I think he's a good intangible/bother the other team guy. I think he's intense and plays hard at all times and I'd like the younger guys to emulate those aspects of Dahntay.

and sure, vets can have bad games. But Dahntay plays like this every game. He's a ball stopper. If he'd change that and play within his limits he'd be fine.

I don't know why the attendance was low tonight. Where'd everyone go from the home opener is what I wanted to know? We were 2-0 from that point to tonight.

I spoke with a lady at the box office and she said after the New Year/the holiday season, attendance will probably be higher.

Oh yeah and most importantly WE WON! 3 WINS 0 LOSSES!!!!

This is a hell of a team and we're on the rise and we aren't going unnoticed.

The Pacers and Hawks will be neck and neck the whole season I think.

People don't get on DJ because he's "off" people get mad at him because he does the same thing over and over again, consistently a black hole, and his defense has also declined.

21 year olds are expected to be inconsistent, DJ is very, very much set in his ways.

isn't that the truth about the officiating. bill spooner is a good official. david guthrie and josh tiven i don't recognize. but man, they struggled tonight. not unfair, just bad. missed calls, wrong calls, unnecessary calls, quick whistles, slow whishtles, every stop of play was unevenly long. just a brutal job. probably the worst overall officiating job i've seen in a long time.

it was like watching a JV girls/boys high school game on a random tuesday.

The Pacers have won 3 games against lesser teams, BUT the experience of winning at Toronto on DWest shot and winning tonight in OT is valuable experience for this team for winning more games this season. The experience of how they won those games can't be over emphasized.

Exactly, wins are wins to say the least.
