Thread: Who should start for the Pacers Frontline?

should West and Hibbert both start? Then all your substitute frontcourt players are energy guys like Amundson, Hansbrough and Foster.

Shouldn't one of the energy guys start and one of the frontcourt scorers anchor the second unit?

If West Starts, then Foster should start at center.
If Hibbert STarts, then Hansbrough at PF.

    For better balance, right?

I'm not worried about an 'energy balance' between the starting unit and the bench. I like that our bench is full of energy guys, actually.

West, Collison, and Hibbert need to play together and form some offensive chemistry. These guys have a lot of potential as a unit that can learn to play off of each other, which will benefit the overall team offense.

That's not really Hansbrough's game right now. Hes better off coming off the bench, being the offensive focal point, and wreaking absolute havoc. Tyler is going to be like a wrecking ball unleashed in the second unit. I think its the perfect setup, really.

We have arguably the most energetic bench in the NBA.

Doesn't worry me at all having West and Hibbert out. If it needs adjusted, then it's easy to toss in Hans/Foster/Amundson/Pendergraph to adjust it.

It's not like Hansbrough is only an energy guy. He is a guy who will also put points up on the board.

Amundson is pure hustle and energy. Great shotblocker and rebounder.

When the suns went to the WCF in 2010, it had a strong 10 man rotation.

The starting frontcourt was Amare and Jason Collins (Lopez was injured in the latter part of the season)
The 2nd unit was Amundson and Frye. Amundson took care of the rebounding and rim protection while Frye defended bigs and stayed outside the 3pt line.

For the first few games I want to see Hansbrough start, to get West fully incorporated. Same with Hill.
    DC > Hill > Price
    PG > Hill > Dahntay
    DG > PG > Dahntay
Psycho > West > Amundson > Pendergraph (he is hurt correct?)
Big Roy > Jeff > Amundson

Who will sit down first? Roy or West?

Eventually, I think it will be Roy, meaning we would see Foster/West or even West/Tyler late in the first quarter.

But, for now, I'm thinking West will sit first as they are careful with the knee. So it will be Hibbert/Tyler with 4 minutes or so to go in the first.

I do think that if Roy is not significantly improved from last year that we could maybe throughout the season see a potential Hansbrough/West starting frontcourt..

..A little undersized, but a **** ton of talent there.

still think hibbert and west should both start? why not let hansbrough and hibbert start, and let west and hill anchor the second unit.

just because west is not starting doesnt mean he will not get starters' minutes or finish games...

I personally like when DC, PG and Tyler are on the floor at the same time, Don't care who starts but would like to see those 3 run a lot.

I'm fine with our frontcourt. IMO problem is that we really need a shooter. Price shouldn't sit on the bench all the time.
    Thank you Jeff.
