    Default Playoff Basketball

It's been a long time since I posted. In fact, I have never posted much here, but used to post a lot over at RATS back in the day.

I am so glad that our squad is back and primed for a good playoff run! I have been going to games since the mid-80's, but really became hooked during those great runs in the 90's! I was there when Chuck Person went nuts and forced game 5 with Larry and the Celtics in 1991 and when Smits hit the shot vs. Orlando in '95. I have so many memories of going to crazy playoff games at MSA in the mid-late 90's with my grandparents. They have both passed away, and now it is my turn to hook my kids on playoff basketball by taking them to Game 1 of this first round. I have taken them to several games the past few years, but the only thing that comes close to a playoff atmosphere was the 4th quarter of the Knicks game earlier this month (which one of my daughters wasn't even at with us). These kids have no idea what they are in store for and I love it! I am hoping to make some true fans for life this coming weekend.

I'm already fired up for it, can't you tell?

I know they don't do this anymore, but they should...Break out the shaved heads and black shoes/socks, its PLAYOFF TIME!

That Smits shot was awesome, what was there 1.5 seconds left? I couldn't agree with you more, they definitely need to bring back the shaved heads. I'm hoping for an awesome time. I'm coming from Illinois and planning a full two days of hell raising and promoting the Pacers. We can't forget about Reggie smoking the Knicks as well. Those were some epic series.

I believe it was 1.3, that game had 4 lead changes in the last 30 seconds or less as I recall. Orlando went up, then Reggie hit a 3, then this:

Sitting at Starbucks, waiting to start my shift and I've watched that video 5 times in a row! God, I've missed this excitement and energy. Looking forward to the post season! One thing I miss from the 90's: Mark Boyle "HE HITS! HE HITS! HE HITS!" Go Pacers!!!!!!

I overheard one of the in house cameramen talking before the game, and it looks like if we play Orlando it will be the 7 PM NBATV game Saturday. Means I'll have D tickets to get rid of

AB, I'd given you up for dead at this point. Glad you caught a case of playoff fever.

Boy, AB, me and a few others were big time RATS back in the day. I saw Romsey posting the other day and as I recall he was also at RATS all the time.

Actually Seth, I thought I saw you at the Minnesota game sitting in or around section 1 row 5. One of my daughters and I were in row 10. I probably attended 10 or so games this year, it's a lot of fun to take the kids now. I have 3 daughters from 9 to 13, so I bring them one at a time usually but am bringing either 2 of them and my wife or all 3 of them to game 1, depending on what time the game is Saturday.

That was my halves this year.

Seems like forever since hanging in BLR and doing the single seats angle.

I had BLR passes for most of the games we were at this year. It's not quite the same as it used to be for me. The coolest thing now is for the kids being down there on the rail when the players come out for the layup lines. They think that's great!

Yeah, I get less enjoyment than I used to from BLR. Maybe I'm just used to it.

At halftime I usually just go pester Peck since he sits just a few rows behind me, and after the game the wife is usually ready to get home.

You have those headlines hanging in your Pacers room? Wish I had room for one of those!

I took the weekend off just to come to the game. I plan on visiting and raising as much noise as I can while I'm there within the legal limits

The NBA came through on my order for a Pacers shirt. So I'm pretty stoked. Some guys are talking about hooking up after the game for some drinks so hopefully everyone that can make it definitely come out for some good memories.
