    Default Filling out the roster

As someone pointed out we currently have 13 of the 15 roster spots filled.

Just wondering what you guys think we will do about this. I believe that we will sign one of the guys in camp most likely a 3 since we only have Danny and Paul at that position and then keep one spot open in case we decide to make a trade mid season and take on a extra player.

Any thoughts?Who would you like to see fill these spots.

We've kept a spot open in the past. Maybe that Famous kid can make the team. Maybe we find another center at a bargain price. Who knows.

I think we will go with 14. Bird has stated in the past he likes to have 1 open spot.

Either Reggie Evans or Hasheem Thabeet. Evans is an elite rebounder, which we could use, and Thabeet still has quite a lot of potential to be a major rebounder and shot blocker.

I think it was kind of silly to use a once in a CBA amnesty on Thabeet, how much did he make, I understand wanting Gasol, but you already knew Memphis would match.

I would not mind him coming here, we already have one slow, non agile center that has developed his game, maybe we can do it twice.

If we do sign someone that is an invite I am thinking it will be Tyren Johnson.

What about Ryan Hollins from Cleveland? Big center, could provide some backup minutes for Roy, shouldn't cost a whole lot.

I would rather go with Thabeet due to the potential, would be more valuable in the future.

I could see Hasheem Thabeet being brought in, and I also like Reggie Evans, but I remember reading at the start of last season, that Stanko Barac could come in this season and contribute. Maybe we give him a call?

When does Stanko's season end? Could he come here after?
Welcome to Pacers Digest! New around here? Here are three tips for making the forum a great place to talk about Pacers basketball.

    • Log in. Even if you want to read instead of post, it's helpful because it lets you:
    • Change your signature options. You can hide all signatures by choosing "Settings" (top right) then "General Settings" (middle left) and unchecking the box "Show Signatures" (in the "Thread Display Options" area).
    • Create an ignore list. I know it may seem unneighborly. But you're here to talk about the Pacers, not argue with someone who's just looking for an argument. Most of the regular users on here make use (at least occasionally) of the "Ignore" feature. Just go to "Settings" -> "Edit Ignore List" and add the names.

    Enjoy your time at PD!

-Cut Price & make Lance the #3 PG
    -Sign E.Clark as a b/u 4/3
    -Sign Fesenko as a defensive b/u C

Trade Granger & pieces for EJ ASAP!

Turkish season ends, including playoffs, in May / early June. So no, he can't.

Maybe next season, I'm not exactly on par with NBA escape clauses...if he has one for 2012, we'll need to pay his buyout anyway.

So our first preseason game is tomorrow. Are we going to see signing today to fill out the roster? What's the deadline to be at the 14 minimum?

-Cut Price & make Lance the #3 PG/SG - Like
    -Sign E.Clark as a b/u 4/3 - Yes
-Sign Samuel Dalembart (if a reasonable deal)
-Find way to trade Rush for a late 1st or even 2nd round pick

Trade Granger & pieces for EJ ASAP! - Like the idea, but I'm too worried about EJ's injury history
Lance + Starting SG = Awesome

    Now really free Lance!

I think you can do it only in the offseason, when the NBA escape clause kicks in.

Thabeet hasn't been amnestied yet; just more poor reporting from Bill Ingram.

In the past all a team had to carry was 13 players on the roster. The Pacers have 13 now, do they HAVE to add another player to the roster under the new CBA?
