    Default Paul G

Is anyone else worried Bird might trade George? I get the strongest feeling we won't get our FA targets and gamble on a trade that gets rid of George (I believe the future of the franchise).

No. I dont think George would be considered in any trade. He is young and full of potential. There was a reason why Bird fired JOB in season becuase he wanted guys like George and Hansbrough to see the court and get experience. IMO George and Hansbrough are the 2 guys Bird would not consider in any trade at this point.

I am not the least bit concerned that George might be traded. He is going nowhere.

If we trade George or Hibbert now I will be sick to my stomach. I would be ok if we had to trade Tyler or even Danny if it were to bring back equal talent. Don't get me wrong because I really like Tyler and Danny but if it get us that Alpha star player I would be for it.

I would be disgusted if we traded Paul for anyone that's not a top 10-15 NBA player. Maybe that's me overvaluing a pacers player, but I don't care. He's going to be a great player.

He is hands down, IMO, our most valuable piece. Trading Paul George now would be the biggest mistake our front office could possibly make.

I completely agree. It would be a tragic mistake. The only ones on the block are Rush, and the Jones's or however you type that lol. It would make me sick to trade any of the core. I really hope we bring back McRoberts too. Dude is only around 24 and is coming off his first year in the rotation. I look for him to keep making considerable strides like he has been. He is way undervalued on this forum IMO.

I'm guessing that we'd trade Granger for a 1st+Prospect+Expiring before trading PG.

Call me crazy, but trading Danny is like trading away Reggie. Compare their career stats and Danny Granger is on pace to be better. I would also say Danny is a better defender and rebounder, though he obviously is not near as good at the three ball or dribbling. Will he be just as good or better? Who knows. This is the point of Reggie's career where he went from being good like Danny is, to being legendary. We would be selling Danny short by trading him. Danny's favorite player was Pippen. Danny's game reminds me a lot of Pippen's. Pippen is a top 25 all time player in my book though, so Danny has a long ways to go to even sniff being as good as Pippen.

So we have our Pippen. Paul George has the talent to be our Jordan. We need to leave them together for now. They're going to be like the dynamic duo in my book.

I guarantee you there's about 29 other teams in the league hoping Bird is stupid enough to even as much as dangle Paul George. I've said it once, I'll say it again. I see Kobe talent in him. Defense, athleticism, hops, silky smooth game. His J is getting there. If he developed the fire Kobe has, look the F out.

Seriously, when he was locking up DRose like he did in the playoffs, the entire league took note . I think it was game two that he absolutely dominated the third quarter defensively. I was like " oh thats what we got? Thank you lord!".

He absolutely does not. Wow. Expectations for this kid are way too unrealistic.

He could make 10 all star teams and still not come close to that standard.

Let the kid start more than a handful of games and increase his 8ppg average before we start comparing him to Jordan and Kobe. Christ....

I'm not as sold on Paul George as a lot of you are. I think he's a great talent but it remains to be seen whether the fire and confidence of a superstar ever develops. I do agree though that it would be foolish to trade him this early until he has a chance to develop more.

I don't think he was comparing him to Jordan. If I read him correctly, he's just saying that Paul George has the potential to develop into our top option.

With the height he added he is built more like Durant.:-) Just joking here, however I wouldn't put a ceiling on the kid yet. I recognize Jordan is more like the sky than a ceiling.

Agreed! The only way you even think about it is for a top 5 player, and they're not available. He's definitely an untouchable!

How about we just say he could he our next Reggie.

Anyways potential and actuality are two different things. To say he doesn't have the potential to be as good as Kobe or Jordan is blind to his current abilities. That doesn't mean he will be or that we should expect it, it just means it is in him to be if he really wants to be.

I see Paul George in his prime being a more athletic and defensive version of Joe Johnson in his prime.
