I didn't I called a few weeks ago that he would be gone and guessed the Angles their owner is loaded. The guy has an ego he has been under paid for so long by the Cards. He wanted to be the highest paid player at 1b (dont really blame him) and he got it. Good for him good for the Angles he needed to go to the AL so he can DH in a few years. Just glad Theo didnt do something stupid and get involved. I cant believe Card fans woould even want him back at 10yrs 250m that would hamstring the Cards your FO can do a lot better with 250m than an aging Albert Pujols.

His presser is about to go live in a few minutes

He took less to got the the Angles the Miami Marlins offered 10-275m 25m more holy ****. That would of been a terrible deal for an NL team.

Albert will still be able to hit at 40 thats why he was smart to go to the AL so he can DH he should still be effective then.

The Angles are a WS team right now after they trade Marc Trumbo or Kendrys Morales for another piece.

But they are also paying for the records he should break in their uniform.

While it would have been pretty exciting to get Pujols in Miami, I am kind of glad we didn't. That deal is ridiculous.

because they are moving into a new stadium and they will get revenue from it. In the old stadium they couldn't advertise it was the Dolphins stadium as well and all the board advertisement went to the Dolphins. Public funding is paying 80% of the stadium so they said they would spend if they got a new stadium.

They also think they will get a TV deal

They figure they will have more gate revenue as well. But they have a policy of not giving no trade clauses so say it doesn't work they can just trade these players.(that's the reason Pujols didn't go there he wanted a no trade clause)

I don't think it will work the Marlins didn't draw even after winning a WS so if they cant then then they never will IMO.

Sucks for the Cardinals. I was hoping he would stay there. He belonged there. What a wild ride for Cards fans. They have one of the most exciting postseason runs ever and then BAM, La Russa and Pujols are gone. I guess they gave them a perfect sendoff.

He should have had an 20 year career with the Cardinals.

In a deal set up when Huizenga was the owner to scam himself more money the Marlins pay 5 million a year to use the park. While they had to pay all the workers at the park but don't get any money for Advertising or Luxury box's as Stadium owner (Huizenga) got that and a majority of the parking and almost a third on concessions in a park away from downtown killing any hopes for walk up crowds.

Now they are going to pay just 2.3 million a year and get to keep everything in ad revenue, naming rights, concession and parking. This amazing deal is why the SEC is checking them out.

Not only will they see a massive attendance improvement they can also raise ticket prices adding even more money and they got hit with a flood of cash by doing the Re-Branding of the team. On the first day the changed the look they sold what what would been 17% of the previous years total in merchandise in just a matter of hours and every new star the signed they get hit with more money by selling tons of the new merchandise with their names on it.
