    For scoring leader, do you mean points per game, or total points?

    Don't forget you can't have the 1 and 3 seed be from the same division anymore.

    Wow. The homers are out in full force today.

    You all realize we'll be missing 3/5 of our starting lineup, plus at least one of our primary backups, for at least a month. Last year's twelfth man, who can't keep out of foul trouble, is starting at C, his backup is a rookie who missed almost all of the preseason, and third-string is an undrafted rookie who's only been playing for five years and our GM gave the ringing endorsement of, "He is [in the league], for now.".

    So we'll start December by basically repeating training camp. For all practical purposes, our seasoon doesn't start until January 1.

    Come playoff time, we'll be fine. But we'll have to be blistering hot in the spring to finish with north of 50 wins.

    Pacers = 4th seed
    Lose to Detroit in second round
    MVP = Duncan
    Pacers MVP = Artest
    Pacers leading scorer = Jackson

    I'll fill in the rest later...

    EDIT: NBA Champs = SA Spurs

    Till we fall away in our own darkness, a stranger to our own hearts
    And life itself, rushing over me

    Jay, I can buy your arguments, but please tell us who is going to the the 3rd seed.

    One other thing I am very much taking the Pacers injuries into account. If the Pacers were healthy I would be predicting 60 wins.

    November is the easiest time of the year to get some cheap wins, many teams aren't ready coming out of training camp, and with so many players changing teams, November will be very unpredictable.

    I don't understand your 'third seed' question - we're obviously assuming Detroit and Miami will win thier divisions. I guess Philly will probably win the Atlantic, so by definition they'll get the third seed.

    Do I think we'll have a better record than Philly? Before the injury outbreak, yes. Now, I don't know. It will be close.

    Our ability to pick off some early, unexpected victories last November really boosted our season. I agree with your point on November, I just think we're the team that our opponents will pick up some 'cheap wins' against.

    Jay, I'm sorry, still not used to the new divisions yet. I thought you were saying a team other than the Heat or Pistons were going to have a better record than the Pacers. My fault. I'm getting old, just turned 35 years old you know. I think you just did also. Hope you had a great Birthday,

    I'm sorry if I'm the only one who thinks this, but I feel like the Pistons can be exploited. How I'm not sure but some coach out there will and that's gonna cause them to implode and barely make the play-offs.

    Maybe it's just wishful thinking

    I guess we're middle aged now. I take solace in the fact that MagicRat's got us by a couple months. But the best part of October birthdays is that basketball historically has gone into full swing on my birthday (of course, that meant back in the day I'd occasionally have a gut-busting 'first practice of the season' at 6am to start my birthday celebration. )
