Default NBA.com Stats Cube Pacers Preview

    http://www.nba.com/news/features/joh...IND/index.html

The article really doesn't post well. I'd highly advise clicking on the link as I found it quite interesting.

First blush impressions are very favorable for Dunleavy, McRoberts, damning for Rush, Collison, and Hansbrough (to a lesser extent).

Glad the article made the distinction in the records between JOB and Vogel, so people can stop with the "They only won 37 games last season". All in all, I'm not really surprised with the drop in offensive/defensive production, since Vogel did take over mid-season and was coaching on the fly. However, it kinda sucks that he didn't get the full benefit of training camp and preseason games to teach his system, so he will be basically coaching the team on the fly this season too. One of the cons of having a rookie coach, but it's a good thing that Indiana surrounded him with winning coaches, so hopefully their experience will lessen the impact.

I do believe they will make the playoffs, but I don't think their win total will increase greatly MAINLY because of the lockout. I said 39 - 41 wins this season, unless we pull off one hell of a signing or trade. If the lockout hadn't occured, I would have expected 42 - 45 wins this season.

I tried to post this the other day, but I was so frustrated after a few minutes that I just said screw it. Haha. Thanks for the link and I'm glad I'm not the only one who had the problem.

Welp, I'll never read another column by this guy again. Typical Stat Geek missing out on the big picture.

It's just a pretty straightforward piece that presents a bevy of numbers. Hence the whole "StatsCube" moniker. It's not like he said go out and do this or that this offseason or cherrypicked specific numbers to make certain guys look bad.

Not to beat what is now a decomposing horse, but my God:

"The lineup that Vogel used most -- Darren Collison, Paul George, Danny Granger, Hansbrough and Roy Hibbert -- played 324 minutes together under the new coach after playing just five minutes together under O'Brien"

I though it was interesting that the lineup that gets praised (DC, Mike, Danny, Josh, Roy) goes to **** just by swapping Rush and Mike.
